The Whitechapel Cup was a planned horse racing derby located in the new Whitechapel Downs Horse Racetrack located in Whitechapel. At every Cup held once a month, many horses will vie for the Cup and a money prize, with winners take it all.

Since the Whitechapel Cup is showcasing the best horses of the MRT, there are inevitably some rules to be adhered to. This is a breeder's cup program, meaning you must breed your horse and retain a total of 3 generations of the horse family at a pasture of your choosing. Whitechapel will provide a limited space for horses, but it is expected that people will set up their own pastures.

Definition and Rules

The Whitechapel Cup is a breeder's cup competition, which requires more effort than simply racing default spawned horses. The Whitechapel Cup requires that we follow the rules to ensure a fair and entertaining competition. The rules are divided into several sections, which follows:

Breeding Rules

We expect you to actually breed horses for specific qualities, more specifically the speed and stamina qualities. You must prove to race officials that you have bred at minimum 3 generations of horse from birth to adulthood, which means you will retain the original horses you used to bred.

  • A generation is defined by a horse that has at minimum 2 in-game, non-spawn-egg parents (you can have 2 bred horse, and 2 spawn egg horse as parents). Therefore, to pass regulation to start the breeding program, you will need a total of 15 horses if you were inclined to do the quick breeding system by introducing a default spawned horse at every generation. A true, high-quality horse will require more horses than only 15.
  • You can use any type of horse provided in-game. If a donkey runs fast, more power to you.
  • You cannot race any horse directly given to you via an spawn egg. This is why you will be required to register your horse with the WEA (Whitechapel Equine Association) where we will take an picture of the horses used, and be given a name tag. You must register the horse's name tag, its color, and a small picture with the WEA every time you bring a horse to adulthood.
  • Remember, non-named horses is liable to being removed by the server's natural processes. By naming your horses, you preserve them for generations.
  • You will also be required to own a pasture (size or looks does not matter) where you are able to organize horses, preserve generations, and develop qualities. If you do not own a pasture, you are allowed to share a pasture with a willing co-owner.
  • You can purchase quality horses from another owners for racing or breeding purposes. Informing WEA of any transactions is required, or your horse and/or entire generation may be disqualified. We will not set or regulate prices of horses being sold.

Racing Rules

The Whitechapel Cup is a tournament system, with each heat limited to 5 players. In cases of many participants, we will publish a bracket for participants, and the top 2 or 3 will move onto the next heat until we can determine a Champion out of the field.

  • Once racing, you must complete a full circuit from the starting gate. This means you will start from the starting gate, run past the grandstand, go around, and end at the grandstand line again.
  • Failure to complete the race for any reason whatosever results in an automatic disqualification for the next Cup.
  • You shall not harm, disable, or maim any other horse while racing. Remember, A Whitechapel Cup race tends to be over in 2 minutes from start to end.
  • You are not allowed to modify your horses using magic, potions, or any other artificial means to gain advantage. The only advantage should be in how you breed your horse for the race.
  • You are also responsible for bringing the horse to the event, and returning back to the pasture on your own. We are not responsible for any type of damage or death done to horses outside the venue.

Venue Rules

Whitechapel Downs is the only authorized venue for the Whitechapel Cup; the Cup will never use another racetracks. Whitechapel Downs has several rules attached to the track:

  • Horses must be put into the stalls or be ridden at all times on the venue. Roaming horses will be taken care of accordingly.
  • Run horses counter-clockwise. If there is no event ongoing, you can run the horse in the opposite direction.
  • Unauthorized Horses shall not be left behind at the venue for any extended period of time. You are, however, allowed to deliver your horse to your assigned stall at Whitechapel Downs starting 2 days prior to the event, and you must take the horse away from the venue 3 days after the event.
  • In the time period between events, any horse found on the venue will be considered abandoned and will be taken care of accordingly.
