In Cirno Bay, there are a lot of popular culture references throughout the city. Many of the references are from Touhou Project, but recently, references from Bocchi the Rock!, Lycoris Recoil and K-On! can be seen. Additionally, it also contains minor references to VTubers, other things on Minecraft and many others.

City-wide

The name of this city comes from Cirno, which chimata came up with this name before they got member when they were looking for locations to start their first town.

The Cirno Bay Grid, a road grid stretching the outer wards of Cirno Bay, has the north-south roads all being named after Touhou characters, with the exception of Chisato and Takina Roads in the west, which are named after the respective characters in Lycoris Recoil.

Chuuou Ward

Many of the early buildings built in Cirno Bay have designs and/or names that reference old worlds that chimata worked on, such as Xenon Railways and Republic of Domolas.

Kita Ward

Bocchi the Mural!, located on the block between Kawashiro and Chen Roads along Main Street. (Note: The picture shown differs from its actual appearance.)

Many buildings in Kita Ward have names that reference all sorts of popular culture.

The Ammolite Building gets its name and design from its original building, located in the OSO (Open Source Objects) multiplayer server where chimata used to moderate on, and its name of this building originally came from an object show YouTuber.

Kessoku Tower and Bocchi the Mural!, located on the eastern rail junction to Kompaku Terminal both reference Bocchi the Rock!. Kessoku Tower references the Kessoku Band, the band that is featured in the series, while Bocchi the Mural!, featuring characters from said series, is named from a wordplay of the name of the series, Bocchi the Rock.

Kompaku Terminal, an important rail terminal in Cirno Bay is named after Youmu Konpaku, but it is spelled as "Kompaku" due to spelling customs followed by chimata and JR on romanizing station names from Japanese.

The first location of Yamabuki Bakery, located in Cirno Bay was named after a recurring location that appears in BanG Dream!.

The name of Karuigi Ward is derived from the "kei" in Keion District and "gi" in Nishikigi District.
