The B550 is a B-class highway that runs mostly at-grade exclusively within the cities of Zaquar and Boston. The highway connects Zaquar and Boston north to the A50.

The B550 designation came into use in c. 2015 or 2016, when the city of Zaquar decided to grant a highway number to the existing surface street Anaconda Avenue, which is the main north-south thoroughfare of Zaquar. The highway originally ran entirely in Zaquar and was concurrent with the entire length of Anaconda Avenue, starting at the interchange, continuing through downtown Zaquar, and ending at Zaquar Ménage et Trois Regional Airport.

In 2022, Transport for Boston received the approval of the Zaquar Department of Transportation to extend the  B550  south to Boston. Work on new highway infrastructure in Boston began in mid-2022, and on September 10, 2022, the Zaquar Department of Transportation rerouted the  B550  in Zaquar via a new underground interchange, in which the  B550  and Anaconda Avenue split from each other, with Anaconda Avenue continuing to the airport and the  B550  continuing to Boston.

The highway is entirely within the city limits of Zaquar and Boston. It mostly runs as a surface level street in Zaquar concurrent with Anaconda Avenue, before transitioning into a limited access highway crossing into Boston. It then turns back into a surface street before coming to an abrupt stub end. The  B550  continues further south with a non-contiguous segment along Baker Street in Boston, with construction currently in progress to connect the two segments.
