Fred Rail, released as Fred Rail - The Movie, is a 2018 two-hour surreal experimental comedy film created by FredTheTimeLord in 2018.
Plot
Looping for a constant 2 hours, a text to speech voice utters the phrase "Ride Fred Rail".
Background and Development
The Fred Rail movie originated from the Fred Rail slogan, "Ride Fred Rail". FredTheTimeLord was quickly putting together a simplistic advertisement consisting of a sped up Microsoft Sam TTS recording saying "Ride Fred Rail" above a still image in Adobe Premiere Pro. In order to pad out the ad and make it 30 seconds, the video was looped. Fred thought that it would be funny to loop the ad much further, deciding 2 hours would be adequate. This met the runtime of a standard movie, so Fred then decided to brand this joke video as a movie in order for a bait-and-switch.
Legacy and Spinoffs
After the production and release of this video, FredTheTimeLord decided to commit to making another joke movie but with more effort put in. On December 24, 2019 a sequel project, Fred Rail 2, was released. Taking inspiration from the original film, the last segment of the movie was looped to artificially increase the length to that of a feature film.
