This is a discussion page for the 12 Titans Project, I will first post the link to the petition here when that is created.

Already named..?

I'm not sure if you are aware but most of the bodies of water are already named. They were decided at the November 2017 and the February 2018 GSMs. If you're aware of this and are instead trying to rename these names, I'm still not sure many people would be interested. I'm not sure what the reason for this would be. Bensismith (talk) 22:02, 25 October 2018 (UTC)

Im aware that they are named. but I think my ideas for names would be better because they acknowledge the classics. Purrcat2010 (talk) 22:39, 25 October 2018 (UTC)Purrcat2010, The MRT’s resident Greek/Roman Mythology Nerd
I hate to say this, but is there a good reason to change the names other than personal preference? This is especially true for bodies of water named after towns such as Elecna Bay and Lake Takachsin. Skelezomperman (talk) (contribs) (email) 11:17, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
Yes there is another reason other than personal preference. The current names for the 12 major water bodies don't stick to a particular theme. My ideas for names will standardize the names for the 12 major water bodies to a particular theme. Purrcat2010 (talk) 12:04, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
That kind of makes sense for the more abstract names, but why should the lakes named after towns get a rename? In fact, why not just rename all the lakes after Old World towns or even people? Skelezomperman (talk) (contribs) (email) 12:07, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
Skele, imo, I suggest to wait until all my name ideas are on the wili page before adding another comment to this talk page (which may take a while, so be patient). As they say, “Don’t knock it until u try it (or see it in this case). Purrcat2010 (talk) 17:39, 27 October 2018 (UTC)Purrcat2010
I waited a little bit to see more names, and I still feel this doesn’t make sense for the MRT, especially for bodies of water named after towns. You also did not answer my question as to what specific relevance Greco-Roman Mythology has to the MRT other than your personal preference. Not to mention, why should we rename Elecna Bay, a body of water named after a Premier city that Mineman put a lot of work into, to “Lake Crius,” named after a mythical deity that has zero relevance to Elecna Bay, any other nearby towns, or the MRT? Last question: If we are going to standardize body of water names after one theme, why can’t it be something thag is actually related to the MRT? Thanks for responding. You certainly are welcome to submit this proposal, though note that this is highly unlikely to pass the GSM without a very convincing reason. Standardizing a theme for all of the names isn't a very convincing reason; from past GSMs we've discussed that we'd like to give names in recognition of what is already commonly used, giving preference to whoever is on the shore of said lake, without much regard to consistency. That said, if you do have a good reason to rename the whole set, or wish to propose names for currently unnamed lakes, feel free to send it in. chiefbozxtalkcontribs 16:05, 29 October 2018 (UTC)

Wiki Page Finished

All I want to say is that the 12 Titans Project is finished. I will work to make a petition in Google Forms.
