The United Federation of Cities, also known under the abbreviation UFC and commonly referred to as the Federation, is a union of cities that agree to be exist semi-autonomously on the MRT. In essence, it "nods" to the other United Federation (of Planets instead of Cities).
Description
Founded by the cities of New Bakersville, Bakersville, and the State of New England, the UFC aims to settle strange new worlds, create new life forms and new civilizations, and to boldly satirize where no one has satirized before. To join, you must exist in the future and meet the United Federation Criteria of Membership.
Government
The Federation is a constitutional representative republic. Individual members posses limited sovereignty and maintain elected seats on the Federation Council. The Executive Branch, managed by the President of the United Federation of Cities, heads various departments in the United Federation. A balance between the Legislative Branch and Executive Branch is maintained by the Federation Supreme Court, which carries out justice in accordance with law.
Executive Branch
The Executive Branch is headed by the democratically elected President of the United Federation of Cities. The president leads the Federation. They are the head of state, leader of the federal government, and Commander in Chief of Starmada. The president serves a four-year term and can be elected no more than two times. Although the President doesn't have a lot of power over individual cities, they can declare martial law.

Legislative Branch
The Federation Council is composed of representatives from each member of the Federation. It manages the creation and ratification of law under the Federation.
Judiciary Branch
The Federation Supreme Court resolves all legal disputes in the Federation.
Exploration and Defense
Starmada, a portmanteau of star and armada, is an exploratory and defense service maintained by the United Federation of Cities. Its principal functions are the exploration of the Space World, and defense of the Federation. It also plays a limited diplomatic roll.
