Please read through the proposed rules first. If you have any comments, suggestions, questions, or proposed amendments or changes, please post them here.

If you would like to make a comment or add a reply to an existing conversation, please reply to that section only rather than creating a new section. If a section does not exist, you may create it by clicking the plus button above.

When making posts, please sign them by typing four tildes (~~~~) or click the Button sig.png button. Do not mark any change on this page as a minor edit, and try to use indents so that we can follow the conversation. We'll help you out if you make a mistake, so don't be afraid to add comments. Your comment helps us shape the rules in a way that benefits the community!

If you have a proposal that you don't want to share with the community for some reason, you may email it to us at the admin email address (don't direct message it to your favorite administrator). We will then discuss them with you and publish the proposals for further debate.

To vote in favor of adopting a rule as it is proposed, use {{vote|YOUR NAME|adopt}}. To vote against a rule (use only if you want it to stay as it is right now), use {{vote|YOUR NAME|reject|REASON}}. When changing votes, please remember to cast a new vote rather than change the old one: use {{vote|YOUR NAME|POSITION|REASON|revote=yes}}.

These rules will be adopted after the Minecraft 1.5 update.

Construction Rules: Adjustment of Road Ownership

The following is transcluded from the proposal page's roads section.
To be clear: While this would allow more players to build roads, we will be posting a series of guidelines and rules that go along with the roads. These guidelines include things such as "Build roads in a reasonably realistic manner". We're not just allowing everyone to build roads willy-nilly in whatever style they want. Instead, we will be strongly encouraging realism in roads: we may issue warnings for floating roads made of diamond, or for intersections that seem absurdly unrealistic. We will work with members to keep roads realistic.

The point of this adjustment is to remove the whole hassle of bureaucracy that bothers staff to no end. And if something seems out of place for the server, remember that we have four administrators who will be in charge of issuing the road warnings. Since roads are very large, they will be able to be spotted on dynmap relatively quickly, so there shouldn't be any issue of whether we would spot them. We will post our proposals to the community within the next week or two, and they will not go into effect right away.

Please change your vote if you need to, using {{vote|YOUR NAME|NEW POSITION|REASON|revote=yes}}.

Soleurs votes that the proposed rule should be rejected, and the current rule remains standing. I do not believe in this "Adjust rails/roads rule. I do realize that the current system may be a hassle, but our current system has worked for months. (00:25, 29 April 2013 (UTC)).

Tom_1277 votes that the proposal should be rejected.

mustang_guy votes that the proposal should be rejected.

+  chiefbozx votes that the proposal should be adopted as it is currently proposed. The reason that we want to adjust how roads and rails work is because our current methods are too bureaucratic, restrictive, and confusing, especially for newer members who want to come onto the server and build roads. The current system says that you have to ask the road owner for permission to do even the smallest modifications, and warnings have been issued because of these incredibly minor changes. Under a new rule set for roads and rails, members would be able to build on their own without going through any bureaucratic process, or trying to find out who built the road and ask them for permission before even updating a sign. Also, as you say, we have too may rules, so getting rid of the roads rule will help us solve that problem.

hawksfan1010 votes that the proposal should be rejected. The roads should NOT be community owned. It seems the roads are constantly picked on, and how would it look with 75 different types of roads?

Colaja953 votes that the proposal should be rejected. It is unjust to take away the rights of those who built the roads and therefore giving rights to others who are damaging the owners roads because they dont know what the road was intended for, whats the beetween someones builds being a road or a building, so then why should one build be public and one not? seems kinda odd?

Yeamanator132 votes that the proposal should be rejected. I see no reason for the rule to change, as it has been from day one. Although it may be a hassle now for people to find the owner of the road, thus permission, that would be easier to manage than rollbacks, when people build where and what they like, messing up other peoples stuff

MinecraftYoshi26 votes that the proposal should be rejected.

samyankeesfan20 votes that the proposal should be rejected. I think that Benie should maintain his roads without anyone being able to mess it up. HOWEVER, if anyone wants to build an exit off of the road to their town, they should be able to do that providing that it looks uniform.

superkirbiobros votes that the proposal should be rejected. I think that the roads need to look realistic, and people who already built the roads shouldn't have their work modified/deleted. Also, people should need permission to build even minor changes in someone else's town's roads. Wouldn't not needing permission go against a different rule already in effect? However, I agree that we should be able to make our own highway exits like samyankeesfan20 said.

ajhoopspro votes that the proposal should be rejected. Benie should maintain control of all the roads he worked hard on all these months.

!  Comment from chiefbozx: Okay, it seems that there is a little bit of confusion here, so let me try to clear things up. Members are not being given clearance to go out and build roads made out of sponge, and then try to have them intersect with one-block-wide roads made of diamond. For those of you who are saying "oh, members are going to build roads that are inconsistent", remember that you have the ability to help them to learn how the roads work. You can also widen the roads if that's what needs to be done to make them match the style. Admins will be responsible for overall decision making of what constitutes an unacceptable edit to a road, and we have been debating proposals for a couple of weeks now. Finally, the two big reasons why we're abolishing the existing system are: (1) the existing system is confusing and bureaucratic, and it doesn't work anymore with the fact that a new wave of players is coming in. Which leads me to reason (2), and that is that new roads spur new towns in the far corners of the map or that awkward space between stations. The staff, and (hopefully) player base, is around to help everyone build things that are cool for the server. That's part of what makes us such an awesome community, and why we've been able to survive for what is now going on ten months. Finally, please remember that we have not released our proposal yet, and our proposal is actually taking into account some of the issues that you are pointing out. To those who say we aren't listening, I have this page and my email open, so I see anything you post and am compiling it. Please continue to post your thoughts, though, and we will do our best to shape the roads rule in a way that is beneficial to everyone.

+  the_blockmaster votes that the proposal should be adopted as it is currently proposed.

+  Kablam10 votes that the proposal should be adopted as it is currently proposed. I feel people should be able to make minor changes such as adding an exit to their own town. However, roads in other people's towns should need consent from the town's mayor first.

Banned Items

You should not be allowed to have and use eggs on the server.

the_blockmaster votes to oppose the proposal or nomination. Eggs can be very useful, for example when making cakes.

+  chiefbozx votes that the proposal should be adopted as it is currently proposed. Eggs can still be used in crafting recipes, also remember that we are in creative. This only bans them from being thrown to create chickens.

+  superkirbiobros votes that the proposal should be adopted as it is currently proposed. People could otherwise throw random eggs and make chickens all over the place. Besides, if you need a chicken for whatever reason, admods can spawn one for you. It's easier than risking having to clean up three million chicken-egg missed shots.

+  Kablam10 votes that the proposal should be adopted as it is currently proposed. Eggs can be used for spamming. However, if people want to play in survival or are in PVP/Survival Games, eggs should be allowed for use in crafting.
