Ricardo Morton Santos (born 12 August 1947) is a Meridian politician and humanitarian who served as the second and last president of the Socialist Federal Republic of Meridia from 1983 to its dissolution in 1990, when Santos allowed the first ever free election in the Socialist Republic, where the current Federal Republic of Meridia was reestablished with Scott Martin as the new president. He replaced Alexander Langley after his death in office. After his presidency Santos has been an advocate for global smiting and has donated to several charities.
Born August 12, 1947 in Jiggs, Neverta, Santos was interested in politics since the age of 15, when doing a school mock election. At 26 he graduated from the University of Neverta and applied to join the Meridian Social Labor Party. He climbed the ranks of the party and had a high reputation for being a good politician. After Alexander Langley's sudden death from a stroke on April 5th, 1983, the vice president Gerald Martinson took control while the party voted a member to become the president. Santos got the most votes, 67% of the party's 230 members.
