Setaeria was a Metropolitan Planning Organization founded on February 13, 2024, by Amber10 and Pillck. Its capital is Setaeria City. It was officially dissolved on February 29, 2024, following poor cooperation between amber10_, Pillck and Nexurian and the ensuring exodus that followed it.
History
The idea of a Metropolitan Planning Organization based in southeast Zeta first came up by amber10_ when fork_07 founded a town in that region. Discussion regarding the name of the organization took place, with a lot of names being considered and being rejected by amber10_, while towns in the area were invited to join. After that, the name of the MPO was decided by a poll, which ended up being Setaeria, but without tensions between Pillck and Nexurian, and amber10_ starting, with amber10_ saying that she "should make the choices" as the president.
A Discord server was created in February 14, 2024, with all planning about the MPO taking place here. The constitution was drafted, and the first election was held, which Zuoj won, but amber10_ was appointed president as she came up with the idea of the MPO. However, on February 16, after planning for the capital city of Setaeria, amber10_ sent a message in the Discord server calling out Pillck and Nexurian for making planning decisions without consulting with her. At this point, the MPO started to fall apart, with some backlash from some of the members, which led amber10_ to resign from her presidency and leave the MPO, and both amber10_ and Pillck leaving the MRT Discord in February 17. amber10_ stated that she left due to "personal reasons" and that she would be back in a couple months, and transferred her assets.
The episode led to more members leaving the MPO, while a staff investigation on the MPO was being conducted. The candidates signed up for the next election included Kr4ka and lightshatterz, but the latter withdrew from the election and withdrew from the MPO in February 22. In February 27, an announcement in the MRT Discord was announced, which said that the Discord server for Setaeria was delisted from #auxiliary-discords, the first time this power was exercised since the official auxiliary Discord rules was put in place following the conclusion of August 2022 GSM.
Setaeria was officially dissolved in February 29, after the only candidate for the presidential election, Kr4ka left the Discord server, and Nexurian accepted a suggestion from lightshatterz to dissolve the MPO.
