The City of Aquilia is a project to build a city on a desert island in the New World expansion (Espilon) which thrives to stretch to the horizons of its capabilities in order not to achieve a high rank to be stylish and creative, a dream of the mayor, AlliClaus.
The current status of the project as of 25 Dec 2016 is that it is planning process, the status will be updated once an important event has occured.
Background
The project began planning once the New World expansion during the beginnings of Espilon was annouced, project leader, JustFarkie was desperate to have a new start to city building after his second city (the first one named South Oaksville was auctioned off in Early 2015), Ellesume did not succeed as he had planned. A new start was just what he needed, to make his skills even better. At the time his rank was [Mayor] and players of that rank could only have two cities at the time. JustFarkie had two: Ellesume and Mortonborough. He decided he was going to sell Ellesume to make room for that new city.
A week or two later, the November GSM results were announced and a major rule that JustFarkie had just obeyed to had been remove, the city limit. This got him thinking, should he cancel the auction of Ellesume or should continue selling it and get the much needed money to pay for important work and franchises for his new city. He decided that if he were to get [Senator] rank for Ellesume he would not sell it for now, however if he did not, he'd sell it on to _Kastle who was keen to buy the city as a further expansion to his city of Los Angeles, which at the time was thriving.
During these next few weeks leading up until Christmas, JustFarkie planned his new city and named it Aquilia, which was the first thing that arrived in his mind. He then created planned districts for this city of Aquilia and made plans of what went where on his new island. It was safe to say that Aquilia had been planned.
It was 25 Dec 2016 when JustFarkie had to make the deep decision, sell Ellesume or not, and he chose to: sell Ellesume. He agreed to have _Kastle claim the city in return for $2500 and an IKEA franchise to put into his new city once he had founded it. The new journey had begun, a fresh, clean NEW START. This was the start of a quest to build a new great city!
Districts
Aquilia will be split into five districts all containing unique styles and influence. Every district will have a different style, however every district will be united as one in unison.
Downtown
Downtown is possibly the heart of the city itself, always thriving to provide governmental, financial and lots of other services. Downtown will consist of mainly high rise office and apartments. Excluded from this will be the Governmental Palace, the heart of the Government (similar to the UK's Houses of Parliament). The building will be expertly made, focusing on every little detail to make it just right, it will be the stand-out feature for Aquilia. Downtown will also have shopping malls and beaches, both made for quality and not quantity. You can pretty much say that Downtown is the heart of the city itself.
Heirona
Heirona is located just outside Downtown and will be located west of it. Beaches will surround Heirona as it will be on a peninsula facing south. The district will consist of mainly residential modern living spaces, however if ever the city reaches [Senator] or [Governor] and can build an airfield or airport it will construct it in Heirona, therefore to make cargo transport easier, many living space may be pushed further north to make way for factories and lorry stations to transport incoming goods by air to other parts of the island.
Quilchena
Quilchena is also, just like Heirona, mainly residential, however small shops will be located there. It will be located on the west coast of the island nearest to the mainland. Most of the expensive villas will be in Quilchena, therefore it will be a wealthy district. There will be no high rise buildings in Quilchena but there will be a car ferry dock for ferries to Mainland MRT.
Verlo
Verlo will be the shopping complex of the island, it well has major boulevards traversing the many malls and supermarkets. There will be only some residential areas in Verlo but most of the land will be taken up by shops. Also, Verlo will have the Convention Center where all events will be held, from gaming festivals to the best dog contest, anything will be held there.
Beachwick
Beachwick will be the beach and holiday district of the city and will have hotels, beaches, pool and a lot more. The district will be aimed at families going on their summer holidays to Aquilia. They would probably fly into Heirona and explore Downtown, possibly spend a few nights there before carrying on to Beachwick where they'll visit family hotels. The district will also house nightclubs, other clubs and other clubs.
