The Treaty of Westbeach was a treaty stating the re-unification of Westbeach with the city of Titsensaki, and thus joining Northern Peninsula.

Treaty

The Treaty of Westbeach states (signed April 27th, 2020) that on October 27th, 2022, the Colony of Westbeach was to be re-annexed by the City of Titsensaki (later edited to include by default which state currently has sovereignty of Titsensaki at the time of handover) by mutual consent, from the Republic of Norwest.

History

On an unrecorded date in late 2019, Westbeach, then known as Aylesbury, was founded by Norwestian settlers in order to have an outpost next to their close allies, Titsensaki. In addition, this gave them a piece of land next to UNET occupied territory. In order for the land to be their own, Titsensaki gave Aylesbury a piece of land, which included landing lights for Titsensaki Regional Airport, some houses, and shops. However, as the town grew, Norwest's government decided that they could not manage the growth of a city so far from their own land. On April 27th, 2020, the Treaty of Westbeach was written and ratified, which made it so Westbeach would join Titsensaki in October of 2022 to off-load the weight of the nation. This was due to the fact that Titsensaki were not able to attend to this part of the city due to their own problems at the time due to economic reasons, so letting it grow as part of Norwest until a predicted good time to re-gain ownership was decided.

On October 28th, 2022, the reunification ceremony was officially held and the treaty was signed off for a final time, confirming the annexation of Westbeach into Northern Peninsula. It was held a day late by mutual consent due to scheduling issues the day before.

Controversy

There is an ongoing dispute in Westbeach whether the re-unification should go ahead. Many people advocate for independence of the city, while others support the re-unification. The political rivalry of the Liberty Party and Unification Party has made this apparent over the years.
