Fred Rail Regional is an intercity Fred Rail service branding operating in the Gamma region of the New World.
History
Fred Rail was originally founded as both a warp rail and minecart rail system. Aside from operating several subway systems, Fred Rail did not operate any true intercity cart lines. On November 27, 2023, ground was broken on a new intercity cart railway coming out of Bakersville Grand Central heading south with stops using observer-based redstone clocks at stations. However, after the approval of TrainCarts during the December GSM, it was decided that any trains on this line would be fully operated by TrainCarts. On December 11, 2023, after the TrainCarts plugin came online, the first segment of the line opened. This route was a local branch to Ashmore via New Risima and Mons Pratus, and also the first TrainCart intercity route, and first TrainCart route overall to open on the server. Frumple was the first passenger, after being tricked to hop in a train while doing some testing for FredTheTimeLord. At first, there were a couple flaws with this line. These were fixed throughout the next couple of days, notably with the implementation of tickets.

Tickets
In order to help futureproof the system, tickets are implemented on the Ashmore Branch. In order to use a train, passengers must grab a ticket from a ticket machine marked with the final destination, and then use a train spawner or hop in an already running train. Once hopping in a train, the ticket will be removed from the inventory (and set a tag on the train, which helps with pathfinding). Passengers without tickets cannot physically hop in a train.
