Erzville is a city established by Eurye upon his first day as a member of the MRT server. Located in North Zeta, it is a modern polycentric city defined by canals, trams, and plenty of greenery along the streetscape. The city utilizes a largely white, gray and dark brown palette that complements the modern earthy style. The name of the city originates from the Erzland Federation - a country from the game of Countrysim. Hence, many street names and place names may be named after members of the Countrysim community or references to the game in general.

Geography

Erzville is located in the sparsely populated regions of North Zeta, roughly 10km northwest of Oparia, with its closest neighbor being Vannahelm to the north-west, and Prohampton to the south-west. While not official, Erzville proclaims the surrounding region to be named the Northern Great Lakes region (NGL for short), with the city bordered by Lake 37 to the north and Lake Odralia to the west.

Suburbs

Erzville is divided into various suburbs, each with their own unique attributes and precincts that the city proudly seeks to showcase.

Erzville Central EZ9 0EC

Erzville Central lies the first CBD of the city, and is also where the first developments occurred upon Erzville's founding. The Erzland Circuit circles around the CBD, hence roughly defining the borders of the suburb. The CBD has a north-south divide: the north has smaller, commercial builds anchoring around the Erzland Cross, while the south contains many high-rises largely for residential and government purposes. The central area is where the Central Garden lies, which denotes the central coordinate of the city. East of the garden is the Erzville Town Hall, where information about the city can be found there, while the west lies the city's Central Station and the Ferry Terminal connecting the city to other towns and regions. Artarmon Square is located just south of the Ferry Terminal and has a large statue of a mythical bird guardian thought to have protected the city throughout legends.

Gleneb EZ9 1GN

Gleneb is located directly north of Erzville Central, bordered by the canal. Along the south side of Gleneb lies Vexter Street, where the mayoral residence lies, cantilevering over the canal and overlooking the center of Erzville. On the west side is Sorland Avenue - a major roadway leading north out of Erzville Central, lined by various luxurious residential buildings. Beyond the residential zoning lies the sports precinct to the east, where various sporting facilities border around Hemble Park. Overall, the builds within the suburb are noticeably smaller in scale compared to its neighbors.

Esperance EZ9 0ES

Esperance is defined by older, Victorian styled architecture with a thriving restaurant precinct along the car-free Neckar Street. To the east along the canal is the Fishermen's Market, where a diverse range of seafood can be found there. Many buildings in Esperance often have modern floor additions on top of existing buildings, creating a facadist blend between modern and Victorian architecture. The street blocks are also designed in the suburb to contain small internal reserves between the buildings.

The west half of Esperance continues a similar block structure, but with a more residential characteristic. Esperance Harbour on the west end opens right onto Lake Odralia, providing a panoramic view of the lake.

Erzbourne EZ9 0EB

Erzbourne is a southeast extension of Erzville Central, with many mid-to-highrises located in the vicinity. The district is known for its diverse range of laneway cafes found amongst each street blocks' alleyways.

Golden South EZ9 2GS

Golden South is the southern extension of Erzville CBD. Characterized by its hypermodern architecture and green streetscape, this suburb serves as a commercial and tourist hub for the city. The Vexteria Garden serves as the central park of Erzville's south end, with the Museum of Erzland located beneath the garden. The museum contains artifacts and information about Erzland and the city's founding. South side of the area is dominated by the landmark Kanacorp Tower, housing the city's largest commercial corporation with a skydeck above. The top of the tower is also a 50m tall statue of the city's guardian, overlooking the southern gateway to the city.

Carnigary EZ9 1CG

Carnigary is the second CBD of the region, lined by modern mid-high rises connected by a complex network of skyways. The east side of the suburb is anchored by the Carnigary Central shopping centre development, acting as a link between the western precinct and the railway station. Carnigary Plaza lies just west of the shopping centre's main entrance and act as the activity centre of the CBD, with festival stands set up along the plaza, creating a lively neighborhood character. There are currently 10 skyway bridges linking the buildings together, providing as a secondary pedestrian network high up above street level.

Gleneb Hills EZ9 0GH

Suburb to be developed in the future, located east of Erzville Central within the hills.

Cremorne EZ9 0CM

Cremorne is a mid-density suburb with industrial architectural characteristics, being a newly gentrified district popularized by breweries, artist studios and pubs. The tall Silo Apartments stands as a unique feature in Cremorne, retaining the recognizable shape of industrial silos while converting the building's space for studio apartments. Cremorne also hosts a wide waterfront, being near the entrance of the harbour. The Cremorne Market anchors at the centre of the waterfront, with pedestrianized streets defining its perimeter with a variety of fruit and vegetable stands. Cremorne Rocks on the west side preserves more of its original heritage buildings, with an abandoned factory as well as the lighthouse standing as a landmark of Cremorne.

Port Erzgard EZ9 0PE

Port Erzgard is the main port area for this region, with a large container port dominating the coast along the lake. Warehouses and distribution centers are strategically placed behind the port, as well as rail sidings and tram depots. The Folou Gate Bridge in the south marks the entrance into the city's harbor itself, and leads directly towards the port area. The east end of the suburb is the Docklands development, with modern skyscrapers and a shopping center complex lining the coast, creating a small skyline from the other side of the harbor.

Westgate EZ9 3WG

Westgate is a small neighborhood located south of Cremorne. The suburb is bisected by an elevated viaduct of B180 leading towards Folou Gate Bridge. To the north of the road are mainly small offices, while south side contains two modern beach apartments, overlooking the cozy Westgate Beach.

North Erzgard EZ9 3WG

Once only considered as a remote forest, North Erzgard is now a major intermodal transport interchange for the city and the surrounding region. Erzgard International Airport, with 3 airplane terminals and 1 heliport terminal, serves as the aviation hub with MarbleAir as the hub airline. While Erzville Passenger Seaport, with 1 seaplane terminal and 1 ferry terminal, serves as the main gateway to the city for seafaring vehicles. There is also a rail terminal beneath the airport serving as the city's second rail terminal. The surrounding precinct is built to complement the transport hubs, with offices, hotels, apartments and logistic hubs.

Trains

The city has a heavy rail network operated by ErzLink. There are three lines serving the centre of Erzville, with three more lines planned to serve the surrounding satellite towns and suburbs. These lines also extend beyond the region into towns across North Zeta. In addition, MarbleRail operates a warp rail line from Erzville to Cardinal Bay, with plans to extend it to Oparia and Ene.

Trams

A tram system, operated by ErzLink, runs through the city and connects each suburbs and city centers together. Many of the tracks run on road lanes and medians, but certain sections of isolated tracks exist. Notably, trams run through northern Erzville Central on demolished roadways that are now dedicated tramways with copious greenery dotted beside the footpaths.

Roads

Roads within the city use a standard 3m width, and are driven on the left side. Most roads in the city have 2 lanes, but major arterial roads may have up to 4 lanes or more. Road names often references people and characters of significance to the city overall.

Ferries

There is a system of hovercrafts navigating through the canal system of Erzville, providing node-to-node services between small docks scattered across the city. There are also the larger Interlake ferry services, which only serves major docks surrounding the lake and other cities beyond.

Air

Erzgard International Airport is the main hub of air travel in Erzville, providing air travel to and from the rest of the world.

History

The city was founded in 10-04-2023 - the same date that the mayor Eurye himself was accepted into membership. With the help of ProCallMeJr, Eurye was quickly able to find himself a place to create his first town on - a plains biome roughly 3km north of Prohampton. After this, the first building was established on the northwestern corner of the CBD - where Tommy's Pizzeria's branch is now located. The city quickly grew as the original Erzville Railway Station was built to connect his town to Prohampton. The first landmark of the city was also built during this time - the Erzland Cross, a series of tall glass structures that spirals down to the intersection between Martan Lane and Trig Lane - two roads that were converted into vibrant tramways.

Eurye also began on preserving the original river system of the biome into a series of canals that divide the city into suburbs. Along the first canal to the north, the mayoral residence was built to accommodate the mayor (Eurye himself) as he considered his original residence to be too tiny to reflect his status on the city. Throughout the next month, the suburb of Gleneb continues to develop while the town hall was built for the town's promotion to councilor status in 18-05-2023.

Erzville joined the Metropolitan North Association (MNA) in 25-05-2023. Soon after that, the town was promoted to mayor status. By this point, the central area of Erzville began fully taking shape, with both the Central Station and the ferry terminal completing in succession of one another. At this point, Erzville Central experiences major urban renewal under the City Building Relocation Project (CBRP), relocating old buildings in the northern CBD to other areas over the city, while replacing them with a plethora of commercial buildings, forming the new commercial-franchise precinct. The town continues to expand before its senator promotion, finishing constructing the neighborhood of Esperance while adding an underground warp rail station beneath Erzville Central as provision for future connections to the city.

The city was promoted to senator on 27-06-2023. Soon after, development began on the first few blocks of Erzbourne and Carnigary - the second CBD of the city. New rail and tram extensions took place while a heliport was constructed, establishing the first aerial connections to the wider MRT world. At this point, the rate of construction slowed down but expansions remain constant, with plans for at least 100 builds and a revamp of the canal system before applying for governor status. This was first done through a development of a new neighborhood to the south (Cremorne).

By 28-08-2023, the MRT station was built beneath the central station as part of the Union Line Phase 8 project. A week after, Erzville reaches 100 builds.

Eurye was promoted to Conductor rank at the 2023 September GSM, which led to immediate improvements to the city, including a complete revamp of the canals and harbours, introduction of new (the now rebranded to) ErzLink stations, as well as a hovercraft system navigating through the city. Cremorne is completed with the lighthouse, and Esperance expands west to a new harbor. By this point, a goal was made to finish developing the rest of the lands between Esperance and Cremorne before attempting for Governor. This was done by building a large port area strategically at the center of the lake, with warehouses and logistic centers in the east. The furthest east side becomes the modern Docklands developments built on pre-industrial lands, with a small skyline lining the west before build count officially surpasses 140 builds. Application for the Govenor rank was submitted, and throughout the 2 weeks waiting time, focus was shifted north to finish building the rest of Carnigary. The landmark Erzgard Central Hospital was constructed along with a medical precinct. While in West Carnigary, various student accommodation apartments were built in preparation for the university precinct. Erzville was officially promoted to Govenor rank on 09-11-2023.

Wanting to take a break from large projects, Eurye spent 2 weeks building the small beach suburb of Westgate to the southern edge of the city. However, during this period, plans were beginning to be drawn up for the airport precinct and Golden South - a southern extension of Erzville CBD. Golden South was also completed within 2 weeks, with the addition of a large park, a museum beneath and a passageway to Erzville Central Interchange Complex to the north. Erzville's tallest tower was also completed during this time - the Kanacorp Tower.

Throughout the rest of the december, major works began on the north side in preparation for the airport precinct. Erzgard International Airport, with 3 airplane terminals and 1 heliport terminal, was built in a week and opened for gate request by 16-12-2023. The rail terminal, serving ErzLink, MarbleRail and MRT Shinkansen with a connection to MRT, opened in 20-12-2023. Realizing that the precinct would benefit with even more mode connectivity, a seaport with a seaplane terminal and ferry terminal was also built on the north side, and tram lines connect the airport and seaport together. The rest of the airport precinct, with offices, hotel, parking, distribution centres, would be completed by early January.
