The Ecstasy class, including the sub-classes Emerald class, Northern class and Aura class, is a class of cruise ships built for the Azalea Group under its Nansei Cruise Lines, Azalea Cruises and Kagawa Cruises subsidiaries. The ships are being constructed by Azalea Shipbuilding, the shipbuilding division of Azalea Group. The first Ecstasy-class ship, Lake Emerald, is expected to enter service for NCL in June 2022.

History

On July 17, 2021, Azalea Shipbuilding announced that it had entered a partnership with Azalea Group to build five 200m Ecstasy-class cruise ships in 2022. Initially, AirplaneNiner was appointed as the designer of the Ecstasy class’ superstructure while STthecat would complete the ships. However, the former stepped down as co-CEO of Azalea Group later in December and the design was finished by STthecat.

Following Magic Cruise Line’s sale to CodyHM also in December 2021, Magical Aura was transferred to Kagawa Cruises before construction started.

The first ship in the Ecstasy-class, Lake Emerald, was laid down on December 30th and is currently parked off-server before undergoing finalisation.
