JHR

From Minecart Rapid Transit Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

JHR is the official rail-based transit authority of the Juhwa Islands. It is mainly split into two different departments: JuhwaRail, and JuhwaMetro.

History

Janghwa Era (2015 - 2017)

When Janghwa M.C. was being established, it was laid upon a junction between the MRT Mesa Line and the MRT Circle Line. As the Circle Line curved north right next to the Mesa Line, Janghwa City ended up having too many MRT stations densely packed within its territory. Because of this, Janghwa City was unable to seriously consider a proper train-based transit system.

Soon after, the government of Janghwa M.C. launched their official transportation agency, JanghwaGyotong (Korean: 장화교통), but they only focused on road infrastructures and road-based transportation. They attempted to create a warp-train metro transit between M22 and C74 as the two stations were next to each other but had no connection. Along with this, a rough plan of three other warp-train metro lines were set, which eventually created a local metro system plan for Janghwa City. To ensure success, JanghwaGyotong formed a separate team under the name JanghwaRail to focus better on this project.

Later on, RaiLinQ had plans to service Janghwa M.C. and a greater rail authority was being requested by the city. JanghwaGyotong upgraded JanghwaRail into a subsidary so that they can manage the entire rail department on behalf of JanghwaGyotong. This was the point where JanghwaRail took on a new acronym of JHR to symbolize their flexibility between their original metro transit (JangHwa Rail) and international rail with higher speeds (Janghwa Highspeed Rail).

But around 2016, a territorial scuffle occured between Janghwa City and _frozen, and C74 became blocked from access. As a result, the metro plan was suddenly scrapped, and irritated JanghwaGyotong wasn't eager to give rail transit a chance anymore. This caused a strong friction against the JHR and protests followed.

But by this time, Janghwa City was beginning to experience chaos as anarchy and bankruptcy ensued, and the drama between JanghwaGyotong and JHR followed the dramatic trend. By February of 2017, Janghwa City was annexed by Ophelia Confederation, and the administrators of both JanghwaGyotong and JHR exited the city and terminated service.

Juhwa Era (2017 -)

When the MRT Gamma World expanded, the former mayor of Janghwa M.C. moved to a chain of islands to establish The Juhwa Islands. Since no MRT Transit lines were around, this gave a major ground for local rail transit to succeed. The newly immigrated JHR administration retained their initials, but replaced their city of service on their name from JanghwaRail to JuhwaRail. Construction on the transit system went effective immediately since the first day of the establishment of The Royal Govermment.

In addition, people began referring to the transit system as JuhwaMetro rather than JuhwaRail, but kept referring "JHR" as its initials. This prompted the JHR to split into two different sectors- one for its local metro system, and the other for major trains.

It administrates the transnational rail system, the metro transit system, and all of the rail stations located within Juhwa Islands. The main headquarters is located at Juhwa-Inok Station and manages the transnational rail, whereas the other two headquarters which manages the metro transit are located at Juhwa-Sagal Station and Juhwa-Chusu Station.

Services

Skite

Skite (Korean: 스카이트, Japanese: スカイト), usually stylized as sk*te, is Juhwa Islands national high-speed rail system, and is responsible for connecting all domestic hubs with each other and servicing international routes. The name Skite was originally devised back in August of 2010 for a theoretical airline company, but the idea served no tangible purpose and folded until May of 2019, when a new name for a national bullet train system was needed.

The train's official color scheme is blue, and the mascot (staff members) is a blue fox. The identification code is "SK". The model used are custom-designed J Class G2 Trains developed by Jupiter Motors.

JuhwaMetro ( Korean: 주화전철 'Juhwa Jeoncheol' / Japanese: 洲化電鉄 'Shuka Dentetsu' ) is the metro transit division of the JHR. Despite JuhwaMetro being a sector of its parent company JHR, the name "JHR" is generally referred to JuhwaMetro, whereas JuhwaRail of JHR, is just referred to as JuhwaRail.

There are a total of twelve planned lines, ten of which services the main three provinces of Sagaldo, Inokdo, and Chusudo. The other two lines services the special territories of Juhwa, one for Hyeonshin Islands and the other for the Myosung Island.

Format

JHR incorporates realistically-scaled subway station designs and features. Every JHR station has a basic requirement of:

  • A spacious platform no narrower than 6 blocks
  • Screen doors (or rarely automatic fences)
  • Ticket barriers, and ticketing machines
  • Administration offices (or sometimes police stations)
  • Easing facilities such as restrooms and elevators

Many stations also incorporate small shops or convenience stores, and may even have direct connections to major facilities for ease of transport. One must purchase the ticket from a ticketing machine, and pass the ticket barrier in order to access the platform where the train is available. In very rare cases, an actual officer will be present to check your passport/identification and belongings, and commit a full-body scan along taking your ticket.

Every JHR Stations are required to offer languages in Korean, English, and Japanese. However, French is also serviced in some stations (notably in French-speaking regions), and on name placards for all stations.

JHR also maintains a rare, state-of-the art safety feature where sections of tracks can be shut down if required- all trains within the section will stop, or will be unable to move when this occurs. This is very useful in emergencies such as accidents, or ongoing construction. When this occurs, affected stations will disable their services.

Lines

Line 1 (Orange Line)

JuhwaMetro Line 1 (Orange Line) is the only circular route of the JHR, and also the only line to be located completely underground. Despite being the shortest route as well, it services the entirety of what is arguably the Downtown of The Juhwa Kingdom (Dongryoon Island, which is also shaped roughly like a donut). This line is also famous for its extreme depth, and by theory holds the deepest metro/subway station in the MRT World.

Line 4 (Blue Line)

JuhwaMetro Line 4 (Blue Line) takes care of the Southwestern region of Sagal Province, and uses its eastern horizontal route to connect the other three JHR lines servicing Sagal Province which mainly travels vertically. Along with Line 3, it is one of the two lines in the JHR that has a one-direction, counter-clockwise loop route at one end of the line. This line also has the one and only JHR station in which is fully controlled by the Royal Government of the Juhwa Kingdom (Capital District Station).

Hyeonshin Line

JuhwaMetro Hyeonshin Line (Line H) is a single-line, all-underground metro train service going between the Eonok, Gansa, and Yeonsang Islands of the Shihyeon Island Territory of the Juhwa Kingdom. Due to the distant isolation from the rest of the country, Hyeonshin Line is unable to access the other JHR Lines, and is therefore transferless. This is also the only JHR Line to have a name that is excluded from the number system.

Tracks with Music

JHR is implementing a new system in which melodies are played to remind passengers of which lines can they transfer at the upcoming station. Each lines are represented by different pieces of famous ragtime music.

  • Line : ♫ 12th Street Rag by Euday L. Bowman
  • Line : ♫ Pineapple Rag by Scott Joplin
  • Line : ♫ Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin
  • Line : ♫ The Entertainer by Scott Joplin
  • Line : ♫ A Breeze from Alabama by Scott Joplin

Subaquatic Tunnels

Unlike most cities and states in the MRT World, Juhwa Islands have an overabundance of surrounding waters. As a result, construction of the metro transit can get difficult at such an environment where there are critically limited underground spaces. Multiple lines of the JHR has taken this as an advantage however, and decided to build routes that extend outside of their geographical borders, into the ocean. Instead of boring a completely underground tunnel, these sectors have crafted a full-glass tunnel where passengers can exhibit the underwater marine environments as they travel.

As of now, the Subaquatic Tunnels consists, and can be viewed from:

  • Line : Odan Seaport (201) ― Hwangnyong (202) / Jongnyeong (212) ― Chungnang (213)
  • Line : Gyeongshin (301) ― The Peninsula (302) / Seoyeon (308) ― Shiyang (309) ― Jongnyeong (310)
  • Line : Gaehwa University (407) ― Juri (408) / Yeongeo (409) ― Hyeopja (410)
