MRT Timeline

This page is a timeline containing pieces of information about what happened since the MRT Server opened in July 2012. The facts are listed in chronological order. Please make sure to keep the page organised!

2012

Spawn City (in 2015)

July

• On July 13, grand opening.

• On July 22, Frumple announces the first rule changes.

• Member applications are closed several times.

August

• On August 4, Frumple announces more rule changes (airports and spleef arenas get banned).

• On August 5, chiefbozx, who just got promoted to [Admin] announces that he has built retail spaces in Spawn Station. The mayor rank is introduced.

• On August 24, the server gets updated to Minecraft 1.3.2.

• On August 26, the first episode of The Snapshot is available on chiefbozx's YouTube channel.

September

• On September 10, the first (and last) edition of the MRT Spleef Tournament is held.

• Dispensers are now allowed.

October

• Conductors may now place water buckets and ice.

• On October 31,  B29  Cactusville opens (Halloween event, see MRT History).

November

• New rules about towns, railways and roads.

• Spawn City expands to the neighborhood stations.

December

• The server updates to Minecraft 1.4.

• Winter events (see MRT History#Winter Events Week).

• The MRT Server map available to the public as a download.

• Spleef arenas and amusement parks are allowed again. New rules about WorldEdits and how to ask for them.

2013

January

• On January 19, the Conductor rank is remplaced with the Trusted rank. New requirements are introduced for Mayor.

• On January 25, the server updates to Minecraft 1.4.7.

February

• Keks63 and Miner_Tod get promoted to [Mod].

March

• On March 12, the MRT Wiki is open. Frumple announces that the server will be updated to Minecraft 1.5.

• On March 22, Frumples annouces the switch to the new Omega server.

• On March 29, end of Alpha and beginning of Omega.

April

• Wiki 2.0 opens.

• The server updates to Minecraft 1.5.1.

• Chiefbozx announces a debate about new rule proposals.

May

• All the new rules are now in effect.

• The server updates to Minecraft 1.5.2.

• Chiefbozx announces that a PvP tournament will be held for the first MRT anniversary.

• Many Old World third party rail companies are added to the Dynmap.

June

• The PvP tournament is held.

• A GSM is announced by Frumple, including debates about new plugins and possible unbanned members.

July

• Yeamanator132 promoted to [Mod].

• MRT Mail Centre and PvP arenas finished.

• First anniversary events.

• Staff mail adress setup.

• One year MRT line timelapses & flythroughs start being recorded.

August

• MRT internet radio channel created.

• New server world download available.

• /Call (now /tpa) command introduced.

• Mayors and trusteds allowed to set up their own private warps.

October

• Fiber line cut near where Frumple lives, therefore all MRT services load very slow.

November

• Server updated to Minecraft 1.6.4.

• Supporter benefits now available to purchase.

• First inactive town auction and trusted endorsements.

December

• Server updated to Minecraft 1.7.4.

• On December 31, MRT Orange Line finished.

• BaronThamesBank, Cal76 and _frozen promoted to [Mod].

• MRT v5.0 and plans for Gamma unveiled.

2014

The official opening announcement of the New World.

January

• Omricon resigns from the moderator position.

• New world download available.

• Multiverse being tested on the beta server.

• Official opening ceremony of the Orange Line.

October

• October 4: New World (Gamma Server) opens to the public.

2016

December

• 30th Decemeber: New Server Host (Epsilon) Is Now Opened
