Rainer Bay is Mayor town founded and owned by NetworkSoutheast in Ward 4. It is located northwest of U105 on the MRT Union Line in a peninsula.

History

Rainer Bay was founded on the 26th September, 2023 by NetworkSoutheast, with the first building there being the town hall. It went through rapid expansion early on, with 4 completed buildings, as well as being registered on the 29th September. On the 30th September, the first franchise, Artists' Friend Coffee House, otherwise known as AFCH, entered the town.

Since October, numerous additions have been made to the town, including a lighthouse and apartment building. On the 14th October, the ICG Naval Coalition stationed a Baywatch class patrol vessel to the west of the peninsula, as well as a Corsair class frigate belonging to the Federal Navy of Rainer Bay being alongside it. Transport to the town in the form of the Darlton Isle Ferry and Seaplane Terminal located on the west coast of the town, which was finished and opened on the 22nd October in time for the town's promotion to councillor. On the 24th October, a new town hall was planned out in the downtown area, with construction finishing on the 25th. When mayor was reached on the 27th November 2023, development generally stalled.

However, from the 19th December, development started again at a rapid pace to prepare for senator. On the 24th December 2023, the mayor, NetworkSoutheast prohibited the construction of third party rail lines within town limits, as he did not want a lot rail lines running underneath the town. All rail traffic would be directed to use larger, shared rail corridors instead to reduce the amount of rail lines running through the town all together.

Development in the town would slow down to a near stop after February of 2024, as amber10_ would leave the server following the Setaeria incident, which would affect the development of the town as NetworkSoutheast would be demotivated by this. However, in April, development started once again, as Amber would rejoin the server after her leave from the incident, as well as NetworkSoutheast's promotion to conductor at the April 2024 GSM.

Geography

Rainer Bay is located on a peninsula in South Zeta. This peninsula, nicknamed the Rainer peninsula, juts out into the 50th Ocean. The majority of the town is located on a headland unofficially named Central Rainer Headland. The town’s mayor, NetworkSoutheast has stated his ambitions, albeit extreme, to expand to fill the entire peninsula with the City. If this goal is achieved, then Rainer Bay will encompass 4 MRT stations, all of them on the Union Line, as well as becoming one of the largest continuous urban areas in the server. To the east of the peninsula is a field of icebergs.

Transport

Road

Rainer Bay has an expansive road network, essentially making the framework of the town. However, buses don't have a lot of coverage in the whole town, leaving most of it underserved.

Rail

The main rail terminal of the town is Rainer Bay Central, with 10 platforms as of the 25th December 2023, with a projected 30 platforms to be built. Phases 2 and 3 for the terminal will be complete in the near future. For local rail transit, there is the Rainer Bay Rapid Transit system, though it is currently mostly under construction.

Air

The Rainer Bay Delta Terminal opened on the 22nd of October 2023, with a combined seaplane and ferry facility. The main connections out of the town via seaplane and helicopter are to Kazeshima, Nuuk Seaport and Larkspur. The flag carrier, Rainer Airways is currently based out of the terminal.

All local transit is run by the state owned Rainer Bay Transit Authority, or RBTA, a part of the Rainer Bay Department of Transportation (RBDOT).

Trivia

Despite the name, the town was built in a biome where it never rains.

The town hall was originally going to look more like a wooden cabin, before it was changed to the more modern version.

The town is on the Koishi's new location waiting list unintentionally because of NetworkSoutheast's introduction to the server searching 'Koishi's shrimp fry.' lightshatterz, the owner of Koishi's, claimed that he was legally obligated to have one in the town and added the town to the list, despite NetworkSoutheast never applying for one.

The Rainer Bay Darlton Terminal was named after the late Bobby Darlton out of respect, who died on the day the terminal was built.
