KIA Operation Northeast is an ongoing operation conducted by the KIA in the east-northeast of the server around Los Angeles and the Isle of Friel. The goal is to maintain security and promote the interests of the City-State of Kitania in the region.

History

Operation Northeast's history began with the founding of the Isle of Friel military base by The Royal Ferry Monarchy. The City-State of Kitania responded by sending the KIA Armed Forces to form a military presence in the area, founding a military camp, now known as the KIA Los Angeles Military Camp, northwest of the Isle of Friel. The KIA Armed Forces also sent ships to form a naval presence.

The KIA's naval ships, as well as ships from the Lacledic Grand Navy, were engaged in a skirmish with the Formosa Armed Forces and the Spruce Neck Armed Forces, before all forces withdrew their ships.

The city of Los Angeles, a puppet city of Covina, was founded to the north of the Isle of Friel, and became a center for KIA operations. The Kitania Diplomatic Commission established an embassy for the City-State of Kitania, and the KIA Regional Security Service assisted the BART Police in providing security services for the city.

The region then split into the north (Los Angeles), and the south (Isle of Friel), with tensions boiling between the two sides. The tension erupted into the Isle of Friel War, in which the City-State of Kitania and Covina/Los Angeles fought against The Royal Ferry Monarchy. The war ended with a truce between the City-State of Kitania and The Royal Ferry Monarchy, however no peace agreement was formally settled between The Royal Ferry Monarchy and Covina.

With the war over, KIA operations in the region continued. The KIA Regional Security Service stepped down in its role of assisting to police Los Angeles, but the KIA Surveillance Division kept an active presence at the City-State of Kitania embassy, with the KIA Armed Forces continuing to patrol the region.

Present Operations

The KIA continues to maintain an active presence in the region. Active military exercises and patrols continue, with a fleet of naval ships protecting Los Angeles from potential southern intruders. The KIA Armed Forces conducts operations out of the KIA Los Angeles Military Camp. The City-State of Kitania embassy contains offices for KIA officials as well as a jail for prisoners captured by the KIA. The KIA Intelligence Service also conducts operations from a classified location. The KIA Armed Forces also has a convoy of airships flying over the ocean, one of which is capable of acting as an airborne aircraft carrier.
