Hi, I'm the_blockmaster, the mayor of Hobelt and the owner of Rapid Enterprises. Currently I’m mainly working on my town Hobelt located at  ZN8 . It’s a small, but developing town near Laclede.

About me/MRT History

I joined the server in March 2013 and have been a member since then. I've been playing on the server in different periods. My first active MRT period was shortly after I became member. I started building the town Lowia on the old MRT world. The town never grew larger than a town hall and (pretty small) space station. However, in my second active MRT period, around July, 2014, I worked a little on Lowia and the town got a road connection. Since July 2015, I've again gone to be a more active player. As of January 2016, I'm mainly working on my town Hobelt.

My Username

When hearing my username you probably think of Minecraft and the fact that you build with “blocks”. However, the first time when I used “the_blockmaster” as a username was before I started playing Minecraft. Some years ago I discovered a game called “Blockland”. In this game you can build advanced structures with “Lego-like” bricks. You can then add logic to the bricks to create advanced effects/reactions, a bit like redstone in Minecraft. In those days I was much younger than now and wanted a name that would relate to the game. I came up with the username “blockmaster”. However, I wanted to be the “one and only” player called “blockmaster” and therefore I added a “the” in front of my username to form “the_blockmaster”.

As for some trivia, my original Blockland username actually was written as “The BlockMaster”. When creating my Minecraft account (to play/try Minecraft classic), back when Minecraft still was in 1.8 Beta, I thought it would be better to not have a space in my username used when logging into the game. Instead I simplified “The BlockMaster” to a new version of my username, “the_blockmaster” was created. This became my Minecraft account username and when I then bought the game this username followed me along.

Thanks for reading about how I got my username. Now you know that my username is not initially related to Minecraft, the game just happened to also use blocks as the primary building material. :D

Homes
