The Federal Republic of Polytan is a country located in Wards 4 and 5 of the New World. Polytan covers mainly forest and some swampland. Polytan is a federal republic. The capital is Palestropol and the largest town is Southport-sur-mer. Other notable towns include Rockley and Royalston, and the main gateway to the country is Polytan International Airport.

History

Polytan was founded in February of 2019 as an attempt to unify the cities of Palestropol and Southport, and encourage cooperative development, after several border disputes had created tensions between the cities. Rockley became independent from Palestropol on an unknown date, and became part of Polytan at the same time. ondist acquired  V15  Foobar and the surrounding settlement in an IAT, which became modern Ryanton, also annexing further territory to the state. Another IAT was completed in December of 2019, annexing the town of Royalston.

Politics

While officially called a Federal Republic, the country is de-facto dicated by an oligarchy. There are no elections. All Polytanic settlements, and their jurisdictions, are subject to MRT law.
