Polytan International Airport (IATA: PIA, ICAO: PTPT), is an international airport in western Southport, serving all cities in Polytan. The airport is a double-senator airfield (Southport and Palestropol) with an area of approximately 14,829 blocks.

History

Revamp of Southport and Palestropol

Polytan International Airport is a product of major infrastructural fixes in Polytan. This included the deletion of the previous, smaller John Denver International Airport, as well as the terraforming of many landscars. The decision for the location of the airport was driven in an elimination-type process, and existing cities, infrastructure, or unfriendly biomes left its current location as the only plausible place.

Designing the Airport

The airport is designed to hold a maximum amount of aircraft, which admittedly makes the taxiways somewhat unrealistic. However, as per New World tradition, this causes no obstacles. In order to achieve a large gate capacity, much of the airport's infrastructure is located underground, such as security screenings, bathrooms, and franchises. With most of the airport's area covered by tarmac, it was managed to construct 23 gates, numbered A1-A8 for roadside Concourse A, and B1-B15 for island Concourse B.
