Palestropol is a city in Ward 4 of the New World, located at V16 on the MRT Valley Line. It is the capital of the Federal Republic of Polytan, and is a cultural and logistical hub of the country.
History
Palestropol was originally founded by ondist under the name Vontague in 2016. However, the orginal settlement was abandoned for several years. In 2018, due to the scarcity of centrally located MRT stations, ondist decided to return, and flatten Vontague in order to build a new town, Palestropol.
Two former suburbs, Southport-sur-mer and Rockley, became independent and mayorship was handed to gsuatv and fritz_burgerman respectively.
On March 12th, 2020, after several feuds between ondist and gsuatv regarding the space usage between Palestropol and Southport, ondist decided to hand Palestropol over to gsuatv.
On August 25th, 2021, after mutual agreement to resume work in the region, Palestropol was transferred back to ondist.
On October 25th, 2021, shortly after the Special Staff Meeting, Palestropol was transferred back to gsuatv following ondist's departure.
On July 21st, 2022, the city was transferred back to ondist.
Transportation
As construction work has stalled in all of Polytan as of 2022, most of the transportation networks inside of Palestropol are dysfunctional and unfinished (namely the Polytan Subway).
However, the city is rich in infrastructure, which is served largely by external companies.
Rail services include RaiLinQ, MCR and GreenRail.
Palestropol's Senator rank contributes to half of the area rights for Polytan International Airport (the other half is provided by Southport), which serves a variety of flights to destinations throughout the server.
The city is connected to the server-wide highway system by roads B44 and B401 .
