List of wars involving Southfort
Since its founding, Southfort, the capital city of the Commonwealth of Cnidaria, has very notably been involved in more conflicts than most other cities on the MRT. This is a chronological list of them all. Also included are other wars that _Katla_ has been involved in.
Pre-Southfort
The LocalCorp Corporate Wars
A conflict in Greenplain Heights in which anti-LocalCorp and the LocalCorp Corporate army crashed. Little was recorded on this conflict.
Skirmishes with Kitania
In response to to KIA spying, Greenplain Heights militarized the Nippia LocalMart by deploying troops and one single 1000mm artillery shell dubed "The Big One". They were quickly surrounded and eliminated by KIA forces and a peace deal was struck. In another conflict following the discovery of corporate spies in the LocalCorp tower, and a subsequent electrical fire, CISA militarized the same LocalMart. KIA forces quickly secured the premises, and _Katla_ was subsequently banned from Nippia during the following investigation.
The Greenport Skirmish
After the Zerez Embassy broke Greenport's strict city codes by installing fountains on the sidewalk, two tanks were deployed in front of the embassy to enforce the law. Zerez took this as a threat and the conflict escalated into a skirmish between the Zerez Navy and Greenport armor and artillery.
Southport-Armada War
This conflict began following Southfort's unveiling of its first nuclear missile, when Armada invaded the city in an attempt to disarm Southfort.
The Trio
Southfort-Pearl Coast-Zerez War
Zerez, a nation that Cndiaria had previously engaged in open conflict in the Greenport Skirmish saw a Southfort miltiary parade as a threat and attempted to invade the city, causing serious damage. After striking a peace deal with Zerez with Pearl Coast in attendance, Southfort was double crossed and the city was taken over by Pearl Coast forces, led by General Vadum. This war had an immense cultural and economic impact on the city as a whole.
Nauvian Agression
SigmaTheEnigma, the Emperor of Southfort was assassinated by CISA in retaliation for his actions in letting Southfort fall. As a result of the capitation, anti government rioters took to the streets and began to burn down the city. Southfort tried their best to take control but during this moment of weakness, Nauvis invaded Southfort.
Kitanian Civil War
According to now declassified documents, a very paranoid CISA was involved in espionage activities against both sides during the Kitanian Civil War against BART, the City-State of Kitania and the Free State of Kitania. These incursions attracted the attention of both Kitanias. Several spies were eliminated throughout this operation.
In September 2018, after ordering catering from the mysterious Sierra's Groceries, the Southfort palace was bombed, blowing out a huge portion of the south facade. Evidence mounted that an agent in a KIA uniform and a Kitanian vehicle was involved in the bombing and on November 9, 2018, the City-State Of Southfort declared war on the City-State of Kitania. Southfort shot down a Sierra's helicopter, and from their base stationed at Ignis Nation, they launched an attempt to occupy downtown Nippia, and was defeated two days later. At least one Nippian citizen was seriously wounded. The KIA took the surviving troops into their custody and Southfort took two KIA agents and a civilian hostage. Shocked at the involvement of civillians, Kitania insisted on negotiations immediately to return the hostages.
On November 13, Commander James Parkins of the Free State of Kitania approached Emperor Sigma and offered to form a pact against the CSoK under the condition that Southfort not interact with them, Southfort agreed.
On November 17, Southfort dropped to DEFCON 3, and annexed Greenport, a small satellite state, due to its strategic location to Zaquar and Zerez.
On November 18, in retaliation for their betrayal, the Free State of Kitania, using troops in an Infamous Airways van, attempted to take control of the Southfort by assasinating the decoy Emperor, and were later defeated by CISA troops. On the 21st, Emperor Sigma declared war on the Free State of Kitania and offered to assist the CSoK in any way possible at defeating the "terrorist state".
Civil War Era
Cnidarian Civil War
Following the bombing of Southfort's only private businesses, conspiracies spread that CISA was involved. A combination of Pearl Coast supporters, gang members, and civilians seized the neighborhood of Bunker Bay and the industrial North Coast, but many surrendered following the declaration of the "Southfortian Province of Pearl Coast" Most notably, this conflict began Southfort's alliance with Cypress.
War in Bobberton
Southfort was briefly involved in defending this Cypress ally but pulled out due to losses.
The LocalCorp Agression
LocalCorp and Jeff The Bomber surprised the city with a sneak attack on the Royal Palace and the Desert Well neighborhood and revealed their plans to remake the city in their own image by destroying all structures that weren't modern architecture.
The UFO Uprising
Following a series of UFO sightings and shootdowns, Southfort has been in a state of unrest with its citizens demanding to see the aliens, compounded by invasion threats from Sansvikk and Berkeley.
