Hello. I didn't know you were so interested in me. Since you've turned up on my patch, I thought I might as well make my page look a bit nicer than it is currently, lol.
So, how are you doing? My name's CaptainChimpy if you didn't realise already; the nicknames are in the infobox to your right. I've been around the MRT since the cold December of 2014. I've only been inactive three times: April - June 2015, December - January 2016 and March 2018.
My first language is English, but I'm also doing a GCSE in French, so I can speak with the French, but it'll probably be pretty terrible. D'accord? I have aspirations to become a solicitor, specialising in public or international law.
At the moment, I don't have many projects on since my IRL commitments are increasing recently and therefore I'm less likely to be on.
History
I joined December 20th 2014, but really started playing on New Year's Day 2015. 2 weeks later, I applied and was accepted by Thomas on the 15th. Three days later, the town of Accerton at C28 - EC8 Foobar. It's a thriving town. Then, on the 30th, I got promoted to Citizen by I've forgotten. On February 21, I was gifted Trustee by hntredtie. Thanks to my endorsers: RednaxAP, Benie and MonsieurKeks! Then, Councillor arrived via lalaboy. On the 25th August 2015, lalaboy and hntredtie granted me Mayor. I've spent a really long time as Mayor, lol.
Accerton
Accerton was my first city. Pronounce it Ack-er-ton, by the way. In 2015 I really had no idea how to build, how to plan properly, and how to source builders. I reached Mayor, my highest rank with this city. Looking back at Accerton, I'd say that it was a mismatch of buildings, clunkered together, like a sort of messier, more spaghetti-like urban plan. Still, good memories.
Castlecombe
My friend _Bants_ started this town in 2015. However, he didn't get far with it (and was eventually banned (and unbanned)). I took over this project and used it to experiment with proper road-building, proper planning and a better style of building. I tried to link up the town with Accerton, however lost interest and stopped the project. When Epsilon presented itself, I decided to abandon the Accerton-Castlecombe duplex; in late 2017/early 2018 Just_robinho bought Castlecombe Evergreen (the southern district) from me to expand his city, Marblegate.
Enspington
Enspington was probably the city where I made my break. I really enjoyed building this city, using it again to experiment with more European-style buildings, a deviation from the standard convention of boring American-style roads. Basically, I used grey wool for roads. I am proud of my creation, putting a much more focused emphasis on walkability and ambience than the large-road culture of US city planning. I had ambitious plans for this city, however with the emergence of a guy called _Mossie drew my interest away from the city.
Verdantium
Ah, Verdantium. First got involved in this project in summer 2017, helping then-mayor _Mossie to rebuild the Warkworth Canal and Old Verdantium. Gradually I helped oversee the expansion to the east and ascended to the position of Deputy Mayor, developing and opening the Verdantium Sovereignty regional alliance. In March 2018, _Mossie left the server, leaving me to take over mayorship of the city.
Secunda
Oh, I just deputise for _Mossie now, with lead on interiors and landscaping. Ask him for more.
Real-Life Me
I'm from the UK in timezone UTC (+1 during Daylight Savings). I'm [redacted] years old and currently study in an independent school in the UK.
I'm currently studying for A-level, a qualification taken by most 18-year-olds upon leaving school. Most universities (the next level in education) use A-levels as a basis on whether to offer students places. All courses are 2 years long.
Subject | Exam Board | Examination Date |
---|---|---|
English Literature | OCR A-Level | June 2021 |
Geography | AQA A-Level | June 2021 |
Government & Politics | Edexcel A-level | June 2021 |
At the moment, I'm interested in pursuing a career in law. This profession requires a lot of work, meaning that I will be online less as time goes on. Here's my (hopefully!) route to a job:
Academic Level | Subjects | University/School | Grade |
---|---|---|---|
GCSE | As indicated above | [redacted] | 7 9s 1 8 2 7s |
A-Level | English Literature, Geography, Politics | [redacted] | AAA or higher |
Undergraduate Degree (major in the US) | Law
Law with Politics Politics, Philosophy & Law |
Cambridge
UCL King's College London Manchester Exeter |
Bachelor of Arts (BA) (2:1 or higher) |
I haven't really thought about postgraduate degrees much.
Anyway, back to what I like. My interests are in the fields of law, aviation, traffic engineering (weird, innit), politics, geography, and music, especially proper classical music.
