Encinitas is a Senator city founded by kyyl_, located at U37 on the MRT Union Line. Encinitas was founded on November 15, 2020. Encinitas is the largest city and capital of Cresta. It is widely known for its national park, Capitol building, and lighthouse.

Its current mayor is KittyCat11231.

History

Encinitas was founded on November 15, 2020, the day after Oparia, kyyl_'s original town on the MRT, achieved Premier rank, the day after kyyl_ got Moderator rank, and on the day of the MRT's 1.16.4 update. It was founded because of a loss of inspiration to make significant development in Oparia. In addition, his town of Akureyri seemed to be plateauing in terms of development, so founding Encinitas gave him a new task to work on.

He began searching for places in Zeta around the Northern Ocean, because he wanted his new town to be a member of his MPO, the Metropolitan North Association (MNA). He found a spot at the top of a peninsula of sorts that was already claimed but was only marked by a flag that was over two weeks old. Vulpicula came over and declared the settlement insignificant development, and kyyl_ began to work.

On November 22, 2020, Encinitas was awarded the Mayor rank, skipping Councillor.

With his new WorldEdit powers as a Moderator, he was able to quickly terraform the elevated section of the downtown area and create a seawall. He sketched out a couple of minor streets and then began work on the first building of the town, the large polished diorite Bank of the Oaks building. He built 5 more buildings, heavily relying on the "//stack" command to make the builds taller. After that, he began to work on the park on the seawall.

As Encinitas expanded quickly, kyyl_ applied for Senator. On December 27, 2020, Encinitas was awarded the rank by a vote margin of 3 in favour and 2 against. Much of the concern by the dissenting staff members regarded a lack of diversity in build type and design, so the day after receiving his results for the rank, kyyl_ started a project to add details onto all of the roofs of the Encinitas builds and began to expand multiple other districts to add more diversity in build type.

Encinitas was transferred to KittyCat11231 on June 16, 2021, when kyyl_ announced his leave from the server.

The MRT Union Line was extended to Encinitas in late 2022 by SimonScholar.

Geography

Situated on the MRT Union Line in Ward 2, Encinitas is located in northeastern Zeta. Encinitas is on the coast of the Northern Ocean and is located in plains and windswept hills biomes.

Encinitas has no direct neighbors. In relation to other settlements, Nashville is to the northeast and Solana Beach to the south.

Etymology

Encinitas is named after the real-life city in San Diego County, California, USA. Meaning "little oaks" in Spanish, kyyl_ was drawn to the name because of its nice Spanish translation and the way it sounds being said. Encinitas, though, does not try to emulate the real-life city's environment or building type.

Precincts

Encinitas is divided into precincts based on zoning, geography, and type of builds. Right now there are two precincts being developed, with more planned.

City

The City Precinct is the main urban core of Encinitas. It features many skyscrapers and tall builds, as well as a seawall.

Cabrillo

The Cabrillo Precinct is the northern semi-dense housing area of Encinitas. It features many townhouses, two manors, a high school, and a massive national park called Montañas Cabrillos National Park.

Government

The Government Precinct contains the Cresta Capitol Building and many embassies near it. It contains all territory east of the B209, south of Cruz Street, and north of Constitution Parkway.

Landmarks

Montañas Cabrillos National Park

The Montañas Cabrillos National Park is located in the Cabrillo Precinct in the northern mountains of the city. It features many trails, mountains, beautiful scenery, and natural wildlife.

Cresta Capitol Building

The Cresta Capitol Building is a large government building located in the Government Precinct, right in the heart of Encinitas. It sits on completely artificial coastline and serves as the governmental hub of Cresta. It is based on the Australian Parliament House in Canberra, Australia.

Espinoza Lighthouse

The Espinoza Lighthouse is a lighthouse situated on the northeast of the city in an extremely rocky area. Built by FishyCrispy, it has a sandstone base composition with a detailed interior. There will be a local boat for transit to the island it sits on.

Transit

Internal

All internal transit in Encinitas is managed by the Encinitas Department of Transportation (stylised as encinitas dot).

Roads and Highways

Encinitas has a robust road system. Most roads use a combination of gray concrete and gray concrete powder for pavement, and most feature a two lane two-directional traffic flow. Currently Encinitas is connected by one freeway: the B209. This freeway ends at the City Precinct and becomes Escondido Street. It extends from Encinitas, to future southern suburbs of the city, all the way to the Loma Sur Mountain Range and the Cresta Border.

Rail

Encinitas is connected by the Encinitas Subway (stylised as subway). It is a warp rail metro line, using a design from AutoDesignZ. There is currently one line, going from north to south. There are plans for a second line in the south when a need arises.
