Sandfield is a Mayor town founded and owned by AwesomeMarbles, located at I44 on the MRT Island Line. It is one of only four Mayor-ranked towns in Meridia, alongside Lilygrove, New Prubourne and Stillwater, and is the eighth largest city in Meridia, with a population of over 50,000.

Located at the Northern Border with the Republic of Victoria, Sandfield is located on the Acacia plains that separates Meridia from South Epsilon, with the towering plateaus of the Meridian Border overlooking the town. The city is named after the real-life town of Sha Tin in Hong Kong, with the town's main shopping mall (currently under construction) being a reference to Tai Wai's main shopping mall, The Wai.

History

Sandfield was created sometime on October 13th 2022, shortly after the Founder, AwesomeMarbles was admitted to become a member of the MRT. Initially considering to start his town near Lanatam, Alberton and Uacam Beach, he eventually settled on starting his town north of Rattlerville after kingsnake offered him the territory. The town's original name was Sandfields, with an S, though by December, he has removed the S at the end of the town's name, officially registering the town as Sandfield on December 12th, 2022.

The town was promoted to Councillor on May 31st, 2023. In June, AP would start multiple projects in Sandfield, including the demolition of the original town hall in favor of a larger town hall, a new bus station to accommodate the increase in bus traffic and New Town Plaza, Sandfield's largest building to date. He also built the Reddit Solidarity Park near the junction of Sandfield Big Street and Needn Dutch Road in protest of Reddit's API changes. Progress on the town has slowed to a halt as Awesome has been focusing on MarbleRail. On September 12th of that year, Erzville's Mayor eurye was declared as the deputy mayor of the town, and on the 27th of that same month, Global Affairs Pixl set up their office opposite of Ballerye Tower, becoming the second office of Global Affairs Pixl in Meridia after Stillwater.

Towards the end of September 2023, a series of new buildings were constructed in Sandfield, resulting in an immigration wave which shoot up the total population to 40,000. At the same time, the Reddit Solidarity Park was rededicated to a show of solidarity in general. In addition, a new office building was constructed to serve as the new headquarters of MTC. After suffering four consecutive rejected endorsements, Awesome would further add a museum dedicated to the history and legacy of the Zeta era, featuring cities and players during that era. After another declined nomination, Awesome would demolish a large chunk of The Rye due to it being too oversized, massively downscaling it to a 5-story tall shopping center.

Due to Awesome receiving a Level 2 warning, he was not able to get Sandfield promoted until November 10th, when the town was finally promoted to Mayor. Whist Mayor, Sandfield would rebuild its main station to a more grandiose styled donned with purpur blocks, all the while the former Sandfield Solidarity Park was torn down and replaced by an altar of Zuoj.

How to Get to Sandfield from Central City

By MRT (from Central Park)

In order to go to Sandfield by MRT, first go to Central Park MRT station, and take the southbound direction (to ZS55/Toronto) to Central City SE Terminal. Then, change for the Island Line, and ride 44 stops to I44. You should be passing via several tunnels, and see a Meridian flag prior to entering I44.

By Warp Rail

If Warp Rail is your choice, first teleport to Central City Warp Rail terminal. Find the Red Train, and take it one stop to Siletz Salvador Station. Switch for the IntraRail 50's Sunshine Coast direction to Victoria Preston, before switching to NewRail FLR's R6 to Edwardsburg. Once there, board NewRail FLR's W8 route one stop to Sandfield.

By Air (ish)

Assuming you have made your way to Central City Heliport, take the helicopter at Gate R to Dand, where you can then either fly southeast, or if you have a Fast Boi, get onto the B58, and turn RIGHT at the first junction after crossing the tunnel. Continue down the A54 until you see a sign which reads "EXIT: Sandfield".

By Road

Go to the A0 (Central City Loop) and exit onto the A4, and Fast Boi your way to Endor, where A4 meets the A54. Exit through the clover interchange, and go down the A54 until you reach Sandfield.

Trivia

• All but one road in Sandfield (that being Sandfield Big Street) are named after MRT Members, example being Needn Dutch Road and Zuojing Street. Some buildings in Sandfield also references names of other members, Ewbor Tower and The Rye being two examples.
• The Rye was initially named New Town Plaza, which is another shopping mall in Sha Tin. The name was changed to The Rye as a reference to the deputy mayor of the town, eurye, as well as the shopping mall The Wai in the Tai Wai area. The name is also a jab at the shopping mall name.
• Sandfield is completely unrelated to the town of Sandbanks (owned by Nexurian), located at U49. While Sandfield came first, Sandbanks was the earlier town to be named on the MRT due to U49 being renamed from Campton to Campton & Sandbanks. I44 was eventually renamed to Sandfield on November 10th, the day that the town got Mayor.
