The MRT Taiga Line, or simply the Taiga Line, is one of the 22 lines of the New World MRT System and one of the 11 initial New World MRT lines built in conjunction with the Gamma server update.

History

The Taiga Line was one of the 11 initial lines built in New World. The initial section goes from Central City Northwest Terminal to  T40 , located in Spruce Valley.

The Taiga Line was first mentioned in the New World MRT plans in August 2014. The route it took according to the plan is that it would go all the way to the northwest corner from Central City and terminate here, with transfers to Western, Northern and Arctic Lines. The quadruple-line section between  NW26 / T50  and  NW25 / T49  has provisions for Western and Arctic Line with the intention that these lines would be eventually built up to the NW corner.

In January 2015 GSM, lalaboy (called lalaboy67 at this time) began building the extension up to the northwest corner.

In Frumple's Epsilon MRT plans at the May 2017 GSM, the line would be extended to the northwest corner. It would go straight through the tundra, crossing MRT Arctic Line before it turns to the west and terminates at the northwestern corner with an interchange with MRT Arctic Line. VickiTori_ (called Vickiposa at this time) planned to build the extension at August 2019, but IRL issues and other projects prevented her from doing so.

In October 2019 GSM, Narnia17 took up the project of extending the line to the northwestern corner. However, due to IRL issues, Narnia only built 2 stations before sesese9 took over the project in May 2020 GSM, where he built the line up to  T58 . The extension opened in September 2020 ISM.

In the Zeta MRT plans by Frumple at April 2020, the line would be extended straight into Northern Zeta, with a potential interchange for MRT Union Line.

In November 2020 ISM, SimonScholar (called godzilltrain at this time) began extending the line to meet with MRT Lakeshore Line and opened a few days later.

In the Zeta MRT plans by Frumple at November 2022, it would be still be extended straight north, and the Final MRT line plan, it would now terminate in an interchange with MRT Union Line, and possible interchanges with 2 new lines.

The Taiga Line runs from Central City, to Bechtel via Ward 9, the mega taiga biome and the northwestern tundra. The current travel duration for the line's entire length is approximately 67 minutes.

Original section

In this section, the tracks have a quartz surface with a brown center line and redstone lamps, with stone edges. The tunnels are made out of stone, including pillars and arches, and viaducts are supported with stone arches.

The line starts at T1 station in Central City Northwest Terminal, which is an interchange station with MRT Arctic Line, MRT Plains Line and MRT Zephyr Line. From T1 station, the line follows the Arctic and Zephyr Line tracks, crossing A0 and reaching Spruce Neck where the line splits from Arctic and Zephyr Lines.

After splitting, the line goes in a westerly direction across the forest biome, going underground after Spruce Neck before reaching Xilia where the line turns. Through Xilia, there are no pillars in tunnel sections, and there is an open-air section between T5 and T6 station. After Xilia, the line enters T7 station in Basking Ridge in Cornus, which is an interchange station with Arctic Line. The line then goes above ground, and passes through 2 more stations, before crossing into Christi where the track style changes to fit with city's style. After that, the line meets a crossing with Seneca Canal, which is a drawbridge, and connects Christi and Laclede.

After crossing Seneca Canal, the line then goes through Laclede before entering Tetrapolis. Most of the tracks between T15 and T16 stations is decorated in Tetrapolis's style, with leaves on the sides and has skylights. The line then goes underground, crossing A95 before arriving at T18 station in Hampton, which is briefly above ground. Then, the line crosses the mountain biome separating Hampton and Spruce Plains, before going above ground onto T20 station in Spruce Plains.

The line continues across the plains biome, crossing A89 after T21 station, and going through Arendale and Harrington, before reaching Pasadena. In Pasadena, there is another interchange with Arctic Line at T24 station, and the line continues for 2 more stations before entering Kessler, in which most of the line is hidden behind walls and a big artificial mountain, in order to maintain Kessler's general style. After T29 station, the line enters Wazamawazi, where after T30 station, the line joins with MRT Circle Line from Ilirea and MRT Western Line from Spring Valley.

In the concurrency with Circle and Western Lines, the line enters the mega taiga biome, passing through Jeeka. Through the biome, the track surface becomes made out of cobblestone, and the lines passes through New Woodbury and Newton-le-Willows, at T35 station. After this station, Circle Line splits off, continuing to Armada and at the next station, T36, Western Line splits off, continuing to Rosemary and Birchwood. The line continues through the mega taiga biome, remaining mostly above-ground, until reaching and passing through Hallarbor, Crossfern, and finally Spruce Valley, where this section ends, at T40 station. Through Spruce Valley, the track surface is made out of stone.

Taiga Extension 1

The line continues its journey across the mega taiga biome, leaving Spruce Valley after T41 and crossing B97. The style in this extension is similar to the original section, except the tunnels are simpler, having less details. The line then goes through Paine Field, Cattington and Vegeta, where the line turns to the north, where the unused trackways for MRT Western Line starts, which was built back in Gamma, when the plan was to have Western Line go to the northwestern corner via the southwestern region of the mega taiga biome.

Then, the line goes through Savage City, and Willow where the line leaves the mega taiga biome, entering the northwestern tundra biome, where it joins MRT Northern Line from Larkspur, and unused trackways for MRT Arctic Line built back in Gamma starts, where it was intended to reach the northwestern corner. The lines, including the unused trackways for Arctic and Western Lines continues to T50 station where the unused trackways end, passing through Borealia and crossing A92 in the process. After T50, Taiga and Northern Lines split, with Northern Line going west to Carnoustie and Taiga Line continuing north to Bechtel.

Taiga Extension 2

The style in this extension is that tunnels and viaducts are made out of quartz with a brown centerline and sea lanterns, and brown lines and railings to the sides on viaducts. A part of the tunnel between T52 and T53 station is 5 blocks tall and then 3 blocks tall between T54 and T55, but after that, the tunnels are now 4 blocks tall.

The line continues through the northwestern tundra, where there are few big settlements on the line, including Hunnington at T52 after crossing A892, then T54 station in Saint Albans, which is a transfer station with Arctic Line, and Nordestad and Icicle Springs further down the line, before the extension ends at T58, on the northern tip of the northwestern tundra biome. It remains mostly above ground south of T55, before the line goes underground around each station up to T58 station.

Taiga Extension 3

This extension is a short, connecting it to MRT Lakeshore Line, and is built in SimonScholar's (formerly godzilltrain) style. The line goes above ground, making another stop at T59, the last stop before leaving the northwestern tundra biome, before crossing the mountain biome while being mostly underground, with T60 station in this biome. Then, the line enters a taiga biome, stopping at T61 station before going underground onto Bechtel. In Bechtel, the line ends at T62 station, which is an interchange station with MRT Lakeshore Line.
