The MRT Expo Line, or simply the Expo Line, is one of the 22 lines of the New World MRT System and one of the 11 initial New World MRT lines built in conjunction with the Gamma server update.

History

The Expo Line was one of the 11 initial lines built in New World. The initial section went from  XE29  in west Gamma to  XE26  in Farwater via Central City.

The ExpoLine was first mentioned in the New World MRT plans in August 2014. The route it took according to the plan is from western territories to eastern territories via Central City.

In Frumple's Epsilon MRT plans at the May 2017 GSM, about 5 months after Epsilon opened, Expo West would be extended west, with a turn at the western border to meet Northern Line and Expo East would be extended east, meeting with a potential MRT Northern Line and a possible new line located in the far east.

In the December 2017 GSM, Cynra_ planned to build the Expo West extension to the West Epsilon border, but only built 2 stations.

Following the construction of the far east line, now called MRT Jungle Line in 2018, SimonScholar (called godzilltrain at this time) proposed an extension of Expo East to MRT Jungle Line at the March 2019 GSM.

In the Zeta MRT plans by Frumple in April 2020, Expo East would be extended to the eastern border while Expo West would do the same, being extended into the jungle in the west.

The marker marks the first line to enter Zeta territory, placed on August 30, 2020.

At the other end, SimonScholar also proposed an extension of Expo West, picking up where Cynra left off to the western Epsilon border in June 2020 GSM and opened in July 2020 GSM. Following the lifting of mortarium on MRT Lines into the Zeta region, he proposed an second extension of Expo East to East Mesa in August 2020 ISM and it opened in October 2020 GSM. Expo Line became the first line to enter Zeta territory in August 30, 2020, with a marker being placed between  XE43  and  XE44  Station, which happened after the mortarium on MRT lines into Zeta was lifted in August 2020 GSM.

In the Zeta MRT plans by Frumple at November 2022, Expo East would be extended further east while Expo West does the same, but instead of terminating at the jungle, it terminates further north. The final MRT line plan also suggests the same extensions.

At December 2, 2023, SimonScholar submitted a proposal to extend the line west to MRT Union Line. However, the "one extension per person" policy was brought up, and after some discussion if Simon should be subject to the policy or not, the proposal was deferred to January 2024 GSM, and in that GSM, more discussion took place, and the extension was again deferred to February 2024 GSM due to Simon not being present, where it was finally approved after discussion over how to distribute the last MRT extensions.

Route

The Expo Line runs from Cypress to East Mesa via Central City and the  [Premier]  cities of Kenthurst and Achowalogen Takachsin.

The current travel duration for the line's entire length is approximately 130 minutes.

Expo West Extension

XW45, in Cypress serves as the terminus of MRT Expo Line West.

The MRT Expo Line begins at Cypress, located at XW45. Like all other extensions built by SimonScholar, the style of this extension is quartz tunnels with black wool lines along the sides and bottom, with redstone lamps placed every 4 blocks, and its viaducts are made out of quartz with black wool and white glass on the sides, and a black line with redstone lamps running down the center, and quartz columns with redstone lamps inside. After Cypress, the line immediately goes underground, going across the Westplein area (which includes Mojang Town and Lawrenceville) while underground, except for a brief ground section around XW44 station.

The line then goes across the swamp and plains biomes in a completely straight shot, with the line ascending over ground before entering XW41 station and remaining above ground for most of the way, passing through Bean City and Tenko City. The linealso passes through Epcott, located at XW36 station, where the line remains underground when passing near Epcott and Blackberry City.

As the line enters a mountainous area and XW32 station, the line turns to the south, and enters a shared section with MRT Western Line from Wazamawazi and Spring Valley. In this section, which goes between XW31/WN6 and XW26/WN1 stations, Expo and Western Lines take different routings, with Expo Line remaining for the most part, aboveground north of Moton while Western Line remains aboveground north of WN5 station. Also in the section, Expo Line changes styles, from the usual style seen in Simon's MRT extensions to a quartz viaduct with a black line and redstone lamps in the center.

Expo West

While still in the shared section with MRT Western Line, the line continues its journey across the mountains, before going underground north of Moton. The style used is similar: quartz tunnels with black wool lines and redstone lamps on all sides, quartz viaducts with a black line and redstone lamps in the center and torches on the side, and columns made out of quartz with black wool lines down the center. At this point, the line stays underground, with Western Line splitting off south of XW26 on the way to W0 station, and then passes through Auckland, where the line goes aboveground, then Asuka, Savacaci and Mega Motion City, with tunnels cutting through savannah plateaus.

The line then enters the Ilirea-Vermilion-Yarrow Park area and Ilirea, starting at XW20 station. In that station, a transfer to Circle Line is available, before entering a tunnel under the Ilirea 6 freeway through Sunset City, at XW19 before the Ilirea 6 freeway terminates at an interchange west of Union Station, at XW18, where the line emerges into an open-cut. After passing through Union Station, the line rises into a viaduct, crossing Ilirea 7 and A7, and then through Sunset Park, at XW17. The line then enters West Vermilion, becoming ground-level and then passing through the heart of Vermilion, at XW15 station. After this station, the line immediately descends into a tunnel in order to cross Lake Capricorn, before arriving at XW14 station. The segment under Lake Capricorn is a tunnel built on the ocean floor, and the sides and roof are made out of glass in order to provide ocean views while riding on this segment.

The line passes through Kenthurst, one of the Premier cities along the line.

After crossing Lake Capricorn, the line has occasional brief underwater segments past XW14 station, although it is covered by grass. The line then passes through Ezzo City before entering Kenthurst, where the line rises above ground after XW11 station and passes through Kenthurst Aerodrome, located at XW9. After leaving Kenthurst, the line goes through 42 and crosses the Kenthurst-Formosa-Sealane Canal, where the line enters Formosa and stops at Formosa Northern station, at XW6. The line then goes underground and at XW5 station, the line meets with MRT Mesa Line from Evella and MRT Desert Line from Danielston.

In the shared segment with MRT Desert Line and MRT Mesa Line, the three lines ascend at different points on the way to Little Italy, where all three lines lie on the same level. On the way to Wallowyn, Expo Line ascends to be ground while Desert and Mesa Lines remain underground. On the way to Sealane Central, on XW2/M2/D2, Expo Line shifts slightly before the station, and after that station where Expo and Desert Line shifts and then the three lines crosses A0, and entering Central City into an open cut until arriving at Central City SW, where the shared segment ends with MRT Desert Line terminating and MRT Mesa Line continuing to Central City SE, and Expo Line going under Central City to Central Park, where you can transfer to MRT Zephyr Line.

Expo East

The Lakeside Crossing at Williamsburg, located at XE5.

After passing through Central Park, the line turns to the north to Central City NE, where you can transfer to MRT Plains Line, MRT Valley Line and MRT Forest Line. The style in this extension is similar to the style in Expo West, and all stations from XE3 to XE11 have boarding platforms at the center with the tracks splitting around and inside the station, and XE15-17 stations have station styles similar to Expo West past Vermilion have to At this point, the line leaves Central City, and enters Grayzen, located at XE3 and XE4 stations. After passing through Grayzen and Williamsburg, with brief tunnel segments through forest hills, the line enters Achowalogen Takachsin, where it remains in until XE20.

In Achowalogen Takachsin, the line passes through forest and savanna biomes, visiting Digipool, Merchant City, Old Town, Orion and Solarion, including the unincorporated area. Although the stations along the section in Dynmap have mostly correct names, the names as given on W/G messages and entrance signs contain Tom_Pairs's spelling quirks.

In Digipool, Merchant City and the unorganized area, the line passes through a developed area in Digipool, then a forest, mostly passing through undeveloped areas and in a tunnel most of the time. At XE8 station, you can transfer to MRT Marina Shuttle, which takes passengers to MRT Marina. After the station, the line remains relatively underground approaching XE9 station, until ascending to be at ground level, and remaining for most part of the route into XE11, before leaving the mountainous area and entering Old Town.

In Old Town, the line mostly goes through a forest biome, sometimes in a birch forest, but oak forest in others, except for XE11 station, which is in a plains biome. Between XE13 and XE14 stations, the line descends to be at ground level. In particular is the XE14 station, which is integrated into the Tommy Corp. headquarters, with exits to parking and offices. After XE14 station, the line enters into a viaduct slightly above ground, before going back to ground level and then leaving Old Town for Orion.

In Orion and Solarion, the line is mostly in a savanna biome, except for XE18 station, which is located in a plains biome. Between XE16 and XE17 stations, the line parallels an road inside the median, before the line turns entering XE17 station and the road crosses the canal to North Haven. At this point, after XE17 station, the line immediately descends to cross the canal which connects Lake Takachsin and Lake 26 before ascending back to ground for XE18 station, where MRT Circle Line from Mason City and North Haven joins the shared section. In the shared section, it is a bi-level structure with MRT Circle Line on the top and MRT Expo Line on the bottom, and transfers to MRT Circle Line along this section.

At this point, the line finally leaves Achowalogen Takachsin and enters Los Angeles and a desert biome after crossing a river near XE20 station, and then ATC-99. While still in the shared section, the line becomes ground-level, before becoming an open-cut, paralleling Sunset Boulevard. Before entering XE22, the MRT Circle Line splits off from the MRT Expo Line and turns to the south to meet with the MRT Eastern Line. After this station, the line goes across Los Angeles, remaining mostly ground-level, and crossing A30 along the way. After XE25 station, the line leaves Los Angeles and enters Farwater, where it goes across a median bordered by Beach and Exposition Streets, before entering XE26 station, where it descends slightly. XE26 station was originally built with the line at ground level, but to allow SimonScholar to extend the line eastwards, the line was moved downwards slightly.

Expo East Extension

Lapis Bay Expo East Airport, located along MRT Expo Line East. The airport gets its name from this line.

After XE26 station, the line immediately goes underground, re-entering Los Angeles, with XE27 station along the way, before the line crosses a bay and leaves Los Angeles, and then rises to ground-level when entering XE28 station. The style in this extension is like all other extensions built by SimonScholar. At this point, the line leaves the desert biome, going underground passing through Aurora, where it rises above ground to forest and mountainous biomes.

The line then enters Lapis Bay. with Lapis Bay Expo East Airport near the line between XE30 and XE31 stations. In the section through Lapis Bay, the line is in a viaduct, until after XE31 station where the line descends below a bay before re-emerging at ground at Lazure, located at XE32, and then passes through Cherrywood and Taiga Hills, where the line leaves the mountainous biome, staying on the taiga between XE34 and XE36. Then, the line goes underground to Newfounded, passing through the mountainous biome and briefly surfacing at XE37.

After XE38, in Newfounded, the line goes across the forest biome, passing through Wexford and Raymont then Bawktown, remaining ground-level west of Raymont and elevated east of Raymont. In XE42 station at Bawktown, a transfer to MRT Jungle Line is available. In this station, it is designed in a "+" shape, with the arrival and departure bays being separated with a huge central square, where MRT Expo Line and MRT Jungle Line meet in an at-grade junction.

Expo East Extension 2

The marker marks the first line to enter Zeta territory, placed on August 30, 2020.

After passing through Bawktown, the line descends to underground immediately to avoid existing development when Expo East was initially extended. It passes mostly through plain biomes, going through Kaleville, New Ashmore and Metamesa. Between XE43 and XE44 stations, there is a golden marker marking the first line to enter Zeta.

In Metamesa, the line crosses a big canal connecting Quindici Sea and Piccolo Lake, located at the west edge of the big eastern mesa, before emerging into the big eastern mesa, and then ascending above ground before entering XE47 station in Nightingale.

In the big eastern mesa, the line remains above ground, mostly elevated, passing through Palemo, Plage Rouge and Seki City and Upton Ulster. In XE49 station at Plage Rouge and Seki City, a transfer is available to MRT Beach Line, and before this station, the line briefly rises crossing another canal that connects Quindici Sea and Piccolo Lake. Past Upton Ulster, there are 2 tunnels where the line goes below a plateau, before finally going into a tunnel after XE51 on the way to East Mesa, where the line terminates and a transfer to MRT Union Line is available.
