The MRTvision Screenshot Contest 5 is the fifth edition of the MRTvision Screenshot Contest. The contest is a server-wide screenshot competition with Eurovision-style voting and representation.
The ceremony took place in the city of Arcadia, following lil_shadow59's win at the fourth contest with the screenshot "Parks and Recreation". The contest debuted on October 7, 2019. The contest's slogan was "Worth A Thousand Words". The winner was revealed on November 16, 2019, at an 6:30 p.m. UTC at the Arcadian Convention Center. There was planned to be an official MBS livestream for the semi-finals and finals; however, due to technical issues, MBS was unable to livestream the event. The official livestream for both ceremonies was picked up by Box Television Network on October 30, 2019, and November 10, 2019, respectively.
Changes to the format of the contest included non-qualifiers being no longer required to vote and not considered a part of the participant vote. Allocation pots were used for the first time to allocate participants into their respective semi-finals.
36 cities participated in the contest. The winner was Arcadia with the screenshot "15 Million Tons of Economic Power", taken by lil_shadow59. With this win, Arcadia became the first two-time winner of the MRTvision Screenshot Contest.
Production
The contest was teased on the MRT Wiki on September 20, 2019. The contest was officially announced on October 6, 2019.
Venue
The contest's results ceremonies took place for the first time in Arcadia, following Arcadia's victory in the previous edition with the screenshot "Parks and Recreation", taken by lil_shadow59.
It took place at Arcadia's lakeside 180-seat convention center, the Arcadian Convention Center, which was constructed in 2019 for the contest. Located on the north side of the town in the, at the time, newly developed area in Arcadia. It is a multi-floor, large indoor center with multiple halls for various multimedia purposes. The ceremonies took place in the theater inside the convention center.
Visual design
The contest, with its slogan, was officially announced on October 6, 2019. The official logo was revealed on October 7, 2019. The logo is an edited version of an online image edited by MinecraftYoshi26. The logo is based on the Arcadia Capital Building.
Format
Similarly to the previous contests, the contest features members representing cities, each submitting a screenshot to be voted on by the participants and the willing public. Each city and willing non-participants award a set of 12, 10, 8–1 points to their 10 favorite screenshots, respectively. Each participant is required to vote. Failing to vote or voting strategically can result in the participant facing disqualification or a possible ban from participating in future contests. Similarly to most of the previous contests, there was no theme.
The deadline to join was revealed as October 20, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. UTC. The deadline to send in a screenshot is on October 26, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. UTC. After the semi-final ceremony, the draw order was selected for the final and voting opened for the final near the end of the ceremony. The winner is able to influence the slogan for the next contest, choose the next host city, and receive $4,000. Second place received $2,000. Third place received $1,000. All competitors received $15 as a participatory stipend for voting. The top 10 were featured on the MRT website.
Semi-final allocation draw
The occurrence of semi-finals was dependent on the number of participants. On October 15, 2019, it was confirmed that there would be two semi-finals after the number of entries reached 37. As the prior winner, Arcadia automatically qualified for the final and voted in both semi-finals. The top 10 screenshots from each semi-final advanced to the final.
On July 28, 2019, the rules regarding non-qualifiers voting in the final was changed. Starting in this contest, even if a participant is eliminated in the semi-finals, they are not required to vote in the final; however, they may do so if they wish as a member of the public.
For the first time, there were pots created for semi-final allocation drawings. The forty semi-finalists had been allocated into five pots, based on aggregate rankings by participant, not by city, from prior contest data. Drawing from different pots helps to reduce the chance of lopsided semi-finals by predicted placement from prior contests. The semi-finals were drawn on October 21, 2019 during an informal ceremony on Mumble. Arcadia's draw number for the final was also selected during the ceremony.

Semi-final 1
17 cities participated in the first semi-final. As the prior winner, Arcadia voted in both semi-finals. The highlighted cities qualified for the final. The results were revealed on November 2, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. UTC.
Eagleshore, Euphorial, and Pixl were originally allocated to participate in the first semi-final, but withdrew.
Semi-final 2
18 cities participated in the first semi-final. As the prior winner, Arcadia voted in both semi-finals. The highlighted cities qualified for the final. The results were revealed on November 2, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. UTC.
Hamblin and PhoenixVille were originally allocated to participate in the second semi-final but withdrew.
Final
21 cities participated in the final, with all qualifying cities required to vote. Arcadia automatically qualified for the final as the prior winner. The results were revealed on November 16, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. UTC. The top 10 cities had their screenshots featured on the MRT website.

Prior participants
Cactus River – On October 15, 2019, SkyjumperTalon officially declared his participation under Eagleshore. Thus, there was no representative for Cactus River. Cactus River last participated in the fourth contest.
Eagleshore – On October 15, 2019, SkyjumperTalon declared his participation officially; however, on October 26, 2019, he stated that he would not be able to take his screenshot before the deadline and was withdrawn. Eagleshore was allocated to semi-final 1. Eagleshore last participated in the first contest.
Euphorial – On October 8, 2019, Kangaroo567 declared his participation officially; however, on October 23, 2019, he stated that he would be too busy to take his screenshot and was withdrawn. Euphorial was allocated to semi-final 1. Euphorial last participated in the fourth contest.
Hamblin – On October 15, 2019, ArizTrad declared his participation officially; however, on October 21, 2019, he stated that he was withdrawing as he wanted to work on other projects. Hamblin was allocated to semi-final 2. Hamblin last participated in the fourth contest.
Larkspur – On October 15, 2019, when asked about her participation, Vickiposa declined to partake. Larkspur last participated in the fourth contest.
New Bakersville City – On October 8, 2019, FredTheTimeLord officially declared his participation under Boston. Thus, there was no representative for New Bakersville City. New Bakersville City last participated in the fourth contest.
Pixl – On October 14, 2019, Seshpenguin declared his participation officially; however, on October 26, 2019, he stated that he would not be able to take his screenshot before the deadline and was thus withdrawn. Pixl was allocated to semi-final 1. Pixl last participated in the fourth contest.
PMW City – On October 15, 2019, dragonbloon419 stated that he might participate, but it was more likely that "I don't than I do". He failed to confirm provisional interest by the deadline. PMW City last participated in the fourth contest.
Sunshine Coast – On October 7, 2019, Echohue officially declared his participation under Bahia. Due to Sunshine Coast being a part of Bahia, Sunshine Coast could not participate. Sunshine Coast last participated in the fourth contest.
Victoria – On October 8, 2019, MC_Protocol officially declared his participation under Redwood. Thus, there was no representative for Victoria. Victoria last participated in the fourth contest.
West Calbar – On October 15, 2019, sesese9 stated that he was busy with school and was not sure he could partake. He stated "I'm not really sure that I'll have time so to be safe, I will drop from this competition" and thus withdrew. West Calbar last participated in the fourth contest.
